Read this LTTE that I am about to respond to
Any talking points that you think I should include please let me know, I'm going to email my response off tonight:

Here is what I am responding to, from the Columbus (OH) dispatch:

Abortion foes may be in wrong political party
Thursday, August 12, 2004

I respond to the July 28 Dispatch article "Democrats for Life message easily drowned out.".

The Democratic Party always has a knack for hypocrisy and no issue highlights this more than abortion.

While claiming to be accepting, open-minded and tolerant, Democrats shun anyone who holds prolife beliefs. The Democratic National Convention offered speaking opportunities to members of Planned Parenthood and NARAL, two of the most radically pro-abortion groups in America. Did they offer a speaking invitation to anyone from Democrats for Life? Nope.

A small gathering of pro-life Democrats in Boston couldn’t even rally without being protested by the Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice.

Perhaps pro-life Democrats should switch to the Republican Party, where their pro-life values would be appreciated and their views on other issues would at least be heard and respected.

Any thoughts??

1. I'd just tell NATHAN, if you don't believe in abortion then don't have one
The guy sounds like a typical single issue voter.

2. Yes, Democrats shun those ....
who want to go back to the coat hanger days. Democrats do not shun someone who is anti-abortion. I don't know of anyone who is really "pro" abortion. They "shun" groups that are ANTI-CHOICE. Should Democrats open their arms to white supremacist groups too?

3. While the GOP may agree with them on Abortion, they certainly don't
listen to anyone on any other issues. Further, if you are "pro-life", how can you join the GOP who advocate the death penalty.

5. Oh, there are plenty of pro-lifers that are pro-dealth penalty
It makes no sense to me, but in their mind, if you don't abort a fetus, you are saving an INNOCENT life. They don't mind the death penalty because someone who is guilty is being punished, and of course they trot out the old "an eye for an eye" diatribe.

4. Maybe you should ask Nathan
If Bush is so "pro-life", why has he killed 1000 Americans in a war based on LIES.
