I voted for Obama and it said I had already voted.....and I hadn't! Why do repukes always have to CHEAT????? :grr:

And it wouldn't let me vote for Obama, it said that I already voted. Just out of curiosity I decided to see if it would let me vote for Keyes, and it accepted it. Wow! Even polls are becoming abused.

never ever heard of that website before, they said I already voted...Keyes up 2-1? I don't think so I think they monitor hotlinks, maybe cutting and pasting the url will let your vote be counted...

Here's the "letter to the editor" I sent to Illinois Leader.

Dear Editor:

I tried to vote in your poll on who I think best reflects the views of IL voters: Obama or Keyes. But when I selected Obama, a message came up saying that I had already voted--which I hadn't. I may have written it off as a glitch, but when several of my associates attempted to cast their vote for Obama with the same results, I concluded that your poll is rigged, and, therefore, fraudulent.

You promote yourself as a media outlet and yet you engage in unethical behavior. I will be reporting your transgression to local and national media watch organizations as well as to the SPJ's oversight committee. Your organization should not be allowed to portray itself as a reputable media outlet. As a member of the journalism profession, all I can say is shame on you.

I suggest you clean up your act.

The link took me to the homepage which has the poll.

Voted for Obama and he is down 24% to 64% Keyes. We know this does not reflect reality!

from home, from work, through Yahoo, through Google, and I have not been able to vote. Here is the response I got from the "managing editor":

Perhaps your and your colleagues' computers are all showing the same IP address. We have had that happen several times, and have set up one vote per IP address with the hopes of preventing duplicate votes from the same computer. With the system you say is fraudulent, the same is true of anyone else who may also try to vote for Keyes from the same IP address.

Please feel free to report to whom you wish. We are not blocking Obama votes as you allege. If that were true, no Obama votes would be registering.
