I was just watching Richard Clarke on C-Span2. He had the greatest
statement I've heard in a while!

"This administration does so much wrong, you don't have to make things up to make them look bad."

He was speaking before the ACLU group, and did a terrific job as usual!

1. He is awesome.
The man is almost as good an orator as Clinton.

Maybe even better.

Clinton comes across as real. You WANT to trust him.

But IMHO, Clark has that AND the ability to rouse a crowd to the point of action.

I will remember his convention speech for the rest of my life.

I would still love to see that man as my president.

Even if I do have to wait who knows how many years.

2. It would be great
if he ran for public office but I doubt he'll do that, atleast anytime soon.

4. I doubt it too.
Though I really want to see him involved in some way in the Kerry administration.

I know I am gushing here, but he simply has to great an intellect, and to much experiance to not be involved at some level.

Not that Kerry doesn't...

He does.

7. Are you talking about Wes Clarke? I agree with you!
Richard Clarke is also something to behold. He is intense and direct. When he talks I believe what he says.

3. I saw part of it earlier today -- he has a great presence.
I wasn't able to watch much of it, and would like to see it.

It's really a bummer that C-Span doesn't provide a broadcast schedule on their website! It will probably be rebroadcast, but no telling when. Grrrrrr!

(Yes, I know..... someone is bound to tell me they have the video on the website.... I can't get it on my ancient computer... Plus, sitting at the computer watching would kill my back. What's left of it.)

If anyone happens to be watching c_span2 and they give a clue of what's upcoming and you see this listed, I'd appreciate a heads up. TIA!

5. Bob Barr is a card-carrying ACLU member!
After Richard Clarke's speech -- which was great -- came former Republican Congressman Bob Barr. Remember him - the pit bull who went after Clinton during the impeachment?

It was like being in a parallel universe. Barr was ranting against this Administration for its egregious civil liberties violations and its secrecy. He did everything but come out and say "vote Democratic." His position is that this Administration is killing the Bill of Rights, and if given another term, the Bill of Rights will be dead.

Apparently, he's been working with the ACLU for a while now. He even took out his ACLU membership card from his wallet and waved it proudly in the air.

I had to check the calendar to make sure it wasn't April 1st.
