Schwarzenegger: "Kerry is a terrific human being" ... "a friend of mine"

Governor is torn between demands of state and GOP
Schwarzenegger is still defining his role in Bush campaign; calls pal Kerry 'terrific'

<snip>

Schwarzenegger, during the radio interview, also had kind words for Kerry.

Asked if he believed Kerry would be a bad president, Schwarzenegger said, "No, I'm not saying that at all. ... He's a friend of mine. We lived together, near, in Sun Valley (Idaho). We go skiing together, ice skating and hockey playing together. ...

"I promised myself that in this campaign, I would never talk negative about him, because he's a terrific human being," Schwarzenegger said of Kerry. "I just happen to have a different political philosophy and a different way of thinking the way the country ought to be served.''

<snip>

Schwarzenegger must be a big headache for Bush, Rove, and Freepers...

John Kerry isn't a terrific human being.

If RINOld thinks Kerry is a "terrific human being" then he is a very bad judge of character!

It's time for the RINOld family to fish with the GOP or cut bait!!!

Tell the wife that she's either supporting her husband or the in-laws!
No more running to the Kennedys every time Teddy snaps his fingers.
And that's the bottom line!!!

23. Well, his father was an actual Nazi, ya know
And Naziism was made possible by the financial contributions of Prescott Bush and his buddies, and now Junior and the PNAC'ers are carrying on the fine tradition of global fascism, with Prescott, Adolf, and old man Schwarzennegger toasting them on with whatever beer they serve in Hell (warm Bud Light, probably)

12. Freeper mentality: The wife should be subservient and shut up when told
that is the reason they hate Teresa so much. They can't stand a woman who speaks her mind.

10. Isn't this the way it's SUPPOSED to work?
"I promised myself that in this campaign, I would never talk negative about him, because he's a terrific human being," Schwarzenegger said of Kerry. "I just happen to have a different political philosophy and a different way of thinking the way the country ought to be served."

maybe if every politician would take this approach we'd actually get somewhere

16. Why would this surprise you
John Kerry is very close to Ted Kennedy - Ted Kennedy is Maria Shriver's uncle - Maria is Arnold's wife - I'm not the least bit surprised by this.

26. I'm not sure
At the time I was still really pissed about the recall and I can't stand Arnold anyway. I didn't realize that Kerry would know him through the Kennedys. I was blinded by my hatred for all things repuke.

28. LOL
I can understand that completely - I often get the same way - that is why I'll be so glad when Kerry get's innaugurated - I know he isn't the answer to everything but I'm sure hoping I don't have to spend 99.9% of my time outraged. I'm hoping my outrage drops to the 30% or less range!

13. The democrats should use Arnold to fracture the republican party.
A final battle within the republican party would marginalize the Reich wing fundamentalists.

15. hmm, maybe Kerry could suggest he wants Arnold for a cabinet post
Now...let's see...what on earth would you put Arnold in charge of??? The only thing that comes to mind on a Kerry staff would be "bouncer".

18. This Might Not Be a Popular Sentiment
But I actually kind of like Ahnold. In sort of the same way I like McCain -- I disagree with him, but I respect him. I know with the recall and everything that Ahnold is pretty much hated among most Democrats, but I can definitely see how it could be worse. Darrell Issa, anyone?

22. Schwarzenegger is more dangerous than Issa because
Edited on Fri Aug-13-04 11:39 AM by Cleita
Issa projects the image that he is a snake in the grass. Arnold on the other hand can look like a regular Joe, saying one thing and while doing and thinking the opposite. Machiavelli's prince would be pround. Remember it was Arnold who said the people need to be told what to do.

25. Like I Said
I didn't figure it would be a popular sentiment. But the Democratic party and America have far, FAR greater enemies than Arnold Schwartzenegger.

24. No...No respect for Arnold
He does not speak the truth. He lies and gives sound bytes. He's going to audit everything, take no money from special interests, work for the people. Yeah right. :eyes: Instead, he raises more funds from lobbyists, works for the oil companies, thwarts workers' protections, and is starting to dismantle environmental protections. He speaks in a language the media love...slow and stupid so he gets good press. When you look at what he actually does then you get a whole different picture.

I also believe that he's a misogynist. Nothing he has done has changed my opinion. That's for another thread.

21. Arnold is a meathead, who has yet to define what his
ethics are. Time for Unka Ted Kennedy to spend some quality time with him teaching him about politics and what "compassionate conservativism" and the GOP really stand for.

29. Old-fashioned civility from a Republican--go figure.
He's the other side, but he's not bad as far as Republicans are concerned.

The US would be better off if Republicans like Schwarzenegger, McCain, Hagel etc would reclaim their party from the Taliban and armchair imperialists who lead it now.
