What do you do if they steal the election?
Serious question for all of you. Think about it. Hypothetically, say it's obvious to the entire country. (Note: this is NOT an invitation to commit sedition)

4. Participate in the largest Civil Unrest and Unrulyness in the History
of the good ol' US of A.

Riots in the streets, marches of uncountable numbers. You name it, if it disrupts, I will do it.

8. Do you think Bush would care?
I don't want to know how the neo-cons will react to riots and uprisings.

5. What's the line between treason and patriotic revolution?
seriously

It would be good to get that cleared up now, just in case.

24. The way I see it
If you lose it's treason, if you win you are a patriot. Just think about the American Revolution and what would have happened to our founding fathers had they lost.

6. Do you find it interesting that the Pubs think the Dems are going
to steal the election? I was quite amused when I heard about the Pubs in Fla. sent notices to thier members to apply for absentee ballots because it's the only way to be sure your vote gets counted.

We think they are going to steal it, and they think we are.

Sorry, but I find humor in that!

9. They don't think that at all.
They're recommending that thier members apply for absentee ballots because that way their folks' ballots are less likely to go uncounted. If their people go absentee and our people take their chances with the broken electoral system, they have the advantage.

Their rhetoric about 2000 is that the Democrats tried to steal the election and they stopped us. Not that THEY succeeded in stealing the election, but they stopped US from stealing it.

11. Actually I heard that drive was due to Bev and the BBV people...
... making a bipartisan appeal & demonstration to local Republican officials. Incidentally, Jeb and his crew shut down the operation as soon as they found out about it.

7. In some ways I'm more concerned if Kerry wins

I'm not sure what "freeper" type people will do if their guy loses.

Every time I think of freepers, I remember the Oklahoma City bombing; angry white guy goes berserk. What about a whole slew of them?

Some of those people may never recover - I am not kidding. They've been hearing that propaganda for many years now.

13. Yes, no amount of power is good enough for them
They are already in charge of the media and the 3 branches of government-and that STILL isn't enough for them. Your point is well taken, and OKC is proof of that.

10. The same thing I did the last time.
Bitch about it to people who didn't care one way or the other, and then I went searching for other people who thought we had been HAD. That's when I found DU and a lot of other good websites. I feel bad for people who still don't have the internet.

Not a pleasant thing to think about. Lets hope saner minds prevail.

15. Block the entrance to 1600 Pennsylvania
General strike. Anything.

That kind of effort requires coordination and leadership. You're right to start thinking about it now because we all know the 'thugs will have their goon squads ready to go on a moment's notice. (I think they're implanting brain-control chips when people sign those loyalty oaths at bush rallies.)

I hope that Democratic leaders, especially Al Gore, would lead a march on Washington. I would go in any case.

18. I remember how stunned and alone I felt the last time they stole it
I would hope there would be more of us in the streets. Maybe there would be a general work strike, a shutdown of both private and public sectors, and a stock market crash. These might force the bastards to throw in the towel.

Or maybe someone with a shred of conscience in the Supreme Court?

21. Actually, Gyre, I think the rest of the world is going to take care of it
I think they'll take care of a lot of it on our behalf. In fact, I think they're going to do it...BEFORE THE ELECTION!!

There are too many world leaders beyond our borders that understand the danger our country is in, and the repercussions it holds for other world governments. And I also think they're going to intervene, somehow (!), to make sure that if bush IS re-selected by questionable means, that it will be so blatantly apparent to even the freepers (!), that there will be some action taken....either politically or economically.

Maybe I'm crazy , or maybe just tinfoilhat :tinfoilhat: ... but I don't think the world will be sitting still for another 4 years of geedubya.

I also don't think that the current regime will take the rebuff lying down. And THAT is what places us all (the peace-loving people of the world) in danger. I DO seriously believe, however, that by 2008, the neocon wing of the republican party in the U.S. will be, by far, the most reviled bunch of thugs the world has ever known....yes...worse than Hitler. I think by then they will have been outed for who they truly are.

:kick::kick::kick:
