Are Bush and friends planning a Coup?
Edited on Sat Aug-14-04 07:58 PM by ck4829
Sorry If I sound like a Conspiracy Theorist or something. But, it seems that way to me. Bush is stacking the Courts with Extremists, his Cabinet is nothing but a bunch of multi-millionaire yes men who are evil. Bush has been rolling back civil rights, some of which he did with the Faith based Executive orders. They are also taking away our liberties with acts such as the Patriot Act and the Patriot Act II. Do you think Bush and company are planning a coup that could take place possibly in his 2nd term?

4. Odd you should mention that
My wife and I were just discussing that very topic. I'm no paranoic, but with all the little clandestined meetings in the dark reaches of the White House basement, the military re-deployment, the weird disconnected closed door re-election campaign, something just doesn't smell right here.

6. Well, good luck to him, then. Who's gonna support it?
We're alert this time. And the legal profession that isn't BushCo appointed is SERIOUSLY alarmed.

Try moving beyond your touching belief in BushCo's superpowers (there's a thread around here tonight that claims he's the Messiah) and ask yourself...Who stands with the coup? The media? Maybe. The military? Don't count on it. Besides, the army's out of town. The heartland? Wellll, maybe not the guys whose factories have closed. The coasts? Good freaking luck. The state GOP leadership and local drones? Why? Has George done one damn thing to make them look good?

Of course, if I were George and I were inclined to a coup because I just hadn't had time to steal EVERYTHING, I would likely find violent protests attempting to hinder the democratic process in NYC to be sufficient to declare martial law. And some people might well agree. But some wouldn't.

And if the declaration of martial law brought about nationwide protests......well, some of those people would just have to be interned. And if that brought about more protest....well, these attempts to prevent democracy would have to be circumvented....

Just wondering if we plan to make it easy. The only protest I want is at the very closely watched polls on election days. I want us to vote in such decisive numbers we take back the Congress as well. That's MY kind of protest.

7. Yes
Planning, yes. Will he and his cohorts be successful? Only if Diebold controls the votes, which they may well do.

8. And they will prob ally get away with it
And they will prob ally get away with it. People are not as mad as they should be after the last election. They ran ruff-shod over it, making a mockery of the democratic process by; altered voting results, hindering some from voting, not allowing a state wide recount(and they gave Catherine Harris a congressional seat for that call by making a special voting district for her). They have bought Ralph Nader. Infiltrating and buying off church leaders and spreading a lie that good Christians are Republicans. I've heard some of the major religious leaders on CTN say..."The terrorist want you to vote for Kerry. A vote for Kerry is a vote for the terrorism." They are subtly altering concepts threw the media on a daily basis. They have made new voting districts in FL, CA, and TX. Stacking the deck, which I though was unconstitutional. Curses to you, Ronald Regan (a man who I liked), for starting the corporate take-over of America.
*I have new fear of the government because I am a firm believer in Democracy and not the Republicans/Communist*
