Who's got the higher IQ?
Heard from a friend yesterday, so no verifacation on this that Clinton's IQ is about 171, *'s is 91! That's right folks, 91 IQ points. I know some kids who smoke dope on my corner who have higher IQ's than that.

1. They way they figured it out was stupid.

Nixon was much smarter than Clinton, and only slightly more dishonest.

edit: this is assuming we're using the same source of information.

15. That's A Crock Of Shit....
John Kennedy got 117 on his Stanford-Binet.....

Which makes him of above average intelligence but far from Einstein....

I would guess Nixon would be slightly higher but presidents like Hoover and Carter, an engineer and a nuclear scientist would score much higher...

8. I think he probably started out in the 95-105 range
that most people are in. I think years of drinking have affected his central nervous system, making him look a lot dumber than he started out. Add to that the fact that he's never had to work for anything in his life and is utterly incurious about the world he lives in, and it completes the picture of a dim bulb who is wilfully ignorant.

However, he is ruthless.

7. Where's the evidence?
Cause it sure isn't apparent on it's face. He presents like a 91.

9. You're being generous with that 91 estimate.
I'm guessing more like 85.

11. He's Probably Higher
85 is pretty low.

Keep in mind that the average IQ on this board is higher than the national average. We're all people, regardless of politics, who read, are knowledgeable, and interested in our world. I wouldn't be surprised if the average IQ on this board exceeds 120, possibly even 130. I'm not saying that Democrats are smarter than Republicans, though sometimes I'm sure many of us think so. I'm just saying that the people here aren't an accurate snapshot of america.

With that said, 85 would not necessarily impair someone, but they'd have a hard time even getting a C at Andover or Yale. Sure Bushie didn't score straight A's, but I think even getting C's there, particularly at Yale probably brings him at least up to 100 possibly higher.

Then keep in mind the fact that he was drunk for 20 years straight. How many brain cells did he kill drinking and driving, and being a cokehead? That can't have helped. His brain was damaged doing that to himself.

When I look at Bush I see a person with probably an IQ of somewhere in the 100-120 range. Not the dimmest bulb in the bunch. The drinking probably hurt him, but not as much as just coming from the family he did.

IQ might measure intrinsically how well you can think, but if you just watch Fox News and read the Wall Street Journal opinion page, you're going to think a certain way. It doesn't matter how 'smart' you are.

I don't know where I'm going with this. Maybe just that his IQ isn't really as important as the fact that he's ignorant.

10. That must be some repug talking point that's going around, because
I was talking to an acquaintance last week -- someone with Phd level education. He was singing the praises of the boy-king. One of the things he told me was that Bush has an IQ of 160. Funny that exact number would pop up.

This must be some memo that went around to the totally clueless recently.

12. IQ doesn't matter
I have an IQ over 150. Genius level. I'm still a fuckup personally. Sure maybe I achieve more than other people because my brains drift me into things and I don't have to work as hard as other sto get there. IQ is only one part of the equation. People think IQ means you're smart and successfull and a hard worker and good at what you do. Not so. It just means at some level your brain is capable of letting you comprenend and think and reason in certain ways. Whether you use that or drink it into oblivion is up to you.

IQ does not create motiviation or erase ignorance. If anything alone, it allows people to squeak by with less work than a person with less IQ.
