How many Amendments are left standing?
http://www.usconstitution.net/const.txt

I was reading through the list of the many many things Bush has done and starting checking off the list of what laws he or the Republicans have passed that either bypass or ignore the various amendments to the constitution.

First Amendment - Faith Based Initiative and the suggestion of making this country a Theocracy is also in violation.

Fourth Amendment - Patriot Act and Secret Searches HUGE HUGE violations.

Fifth Amendment - Git mo Bay - Abu Garibe Et al.

Sixth Amendment - No public trials, military tribunals designed to give people an automatic along with trying people who commited their crimes outside of the US.

Eigth Amendment - Cruel an Unusual Punishment - MUCH MUCH more than enough sais here.

Ninth Amendment - Again, the Patriot act denies constitutional rights.

Tenth Amendment - States Rights? What State's rights?

Fifteenth Amendment - Florida - Everyone is supposed to get a vote regardless of Race or Color. There is no excuse for this to even make the list!

Twentyfourth Amendment - Again, this deals with denying people the right to vote, I wonder why we think it's so important to name it in three total amendments that cover Race, Sex and of course, everything else. Sadly though, it's made the checklist again.

Now for the fun part, which ones did I miss on my list?

1. 7th Amendment. The right to a civil trial
Look at everything from credit cards to a new home and you will find an arbitration clause. Arbitration is NOT fast fair or inexpensive as many tend to believe.

Unfortuantely, you cant get out of the clause and you cant "shop around" since most companies now have the clause.

So much for our rights....
