How many of you heard Scott Ritter on the Guy James Show?

He was quite the well informed guest.

A couple of suggestions about what we should do now that we've done the wrong thing by invading:

1. Bring back the Baath Party people. They are/were 10% of the population and, whether we like it or not, they were the managers (The educated, skilled workforce) of Iraqi Society. Wonder why were having so much trouble with utilities and services? The people with the know how to run them are unemployable!

2. Reconstitute the Iraqi Army. You fire, and make un-employable, tens of thousands of well trained soldiers and problems will ensue regardless of Saddam. Break up old divisions and create smaller entities to be placed under Iraqi control as soon as possible.

3. Bring in the UN, not as "support" but as the primary authority, and support they're efforts and back away from the country.


He said (I'm paraphrasing),"We've cut off our right foot, it's a bloody stump. Here's the question: Do you want the infection to stop at the stump, or continue up to the knee, hip, or end up killing you? We only have a few choices to make and so far every choice we have made has been wrong."

Being that I bought the book that Will Pitt and Ritter wrote last year, I bought on vacation, real neat stuff.

Tho it sounds like it was fascinating I just can't get XMMS to deal with st(r)eamed files reliably.

But, those are streamed too.

I thought that you might be having a problem with spooling and the archived shows are a much smoother play, especially on my computer.

If it's a format problem then I don't know what to tell you. You could always e-mail, or post in th forum, the problem to Frank (The web guy) maybe he has a solution.

I thought his descriptor re "cut off our right foot" was excellent and right on point. He has a way of speaking that allows one a visual aspect to his points.
