Republicans eat their own.
http://www.cnn.com/2004/ALLPOLITICS/08/18/congressman.iraq/index.html

"I've reached the conclusion, retrospectively, now that the inadequate intelligence and faulty conclusions are being revealed, that all things being considered, it was a mistake to launch that military action, especially without a broad and engaged international coalition," Bereuter wrote in a four-page letter to his constituents...

...Rep. Ray LaHood, R-Illinois, a member of the intelligence committee, described Bereuter as "very bitter" for having been passed over in recent years to head both the intelligence and international relations committees. He suggested Bereuter's comments were a parting shot to House GOP leaders and President Bush..."

Oh. Well. This is obviously just a case of a bitter, old quitter complaining. Good riddance, citizens. Move along now....

2. They're jockeying for position.

The loudest ones think they'll be considered the most Republican down the road. This man is a pawn in their game.

They all want to be first in line after the freak monkey is gone.

Remember how they leaked the fact that Chuck Hagel might be running on 2008?

He must know where the bodies are buried.

3. Exactly, Kerry did not Vote for the War either....
per article: Bereuter voted in support of an October 2002 resolution authorizing the use of force in Iraq, but he said that vote was based on what he had been told about the WMD threat from Iraq.

bush and junta lied to get us into a war which was long planned in early 2001.....war on vengence...Saddam tried to kill my daddy...I'll fok Saddam..

5. ...passed over...?
"Bereuter as "very bitter" for having been passed over in recent years to head both the intelligence and international relations committees."

************

Maybe this guy, Bereuter, would have been good for the country, meaning bad for the booshes..... Never heard his name before.

Maybe he'd have been able to stop the pukes from killing so many innocents had he been Chair of either of those two committees?

8. Doug Bereuter is the Rep in my Distric here in NE...
I have been to several Town Meetings when he's been here, and he is a moderate....not good for the neo-cons.

He's getting out, while the gettings good. I spoke w/him about 7 mo's ago when he was in town, and he was not happy with what was going on.

Bereuter was a bit of a pompous ass, but that can happen after you spend 16 yrs in Congress, point is, he was no neo-con, and I truly believe he was sick of not being abkle to get a lot done.

caveat: I despise the RW and all it stands for at this point. These are NOT the GOP'ers that one thinks of when you think Lincoln or Eisenhower, these people are evil, they have an agenda, and Doug did not fit their agenda, neither does Hagel, our Sr Senator, nor McCain.
I have to admit, I have some respect for some of these guys, they are fighting what they know is a cancer that is spreading.
