Petulance.
Now that is a great word!

"A foreign policy based on petulance..."

Howard Dean not only disses *, but he uses a word usually reserved for children. Petulant.

I really love this guy!

6. Yeah, I caught that
Also he's gotten some good handling - he didn't lay out that boyish grin when he said it, although you could see it in his eyes.

7. I read that on the Dean site last night...
That has to be the most accurate description of Bush foreign policy I've heard yet.

used this once before, i'm almost positive of it...

i vaguely recall reading it as a quote in a dean write-up a couple months back or maybe i heard him say it, not sure which...

it is a great quote, no doubt about it

24. First time I heard Bush* and foreign policy described as petulant
was Mark Shields on NewsHour last spring before the invasion,...fretting about how he was petulant in name calling the N. Korean leader instead of dealing with him and claiming we had to invade Iraq because "he (saddam) tried to kill mah daddy".

I don't care where it originated, though. Its perfect

I'd only be about $13,500 short, but who's counting?

19. This is a nice variation
Edited on Sun Aug-24-03 01:57 PM by AnnabelLee
on a line I've heard him use a couple of times, something like, You can't base foreign policy on 'I'll meet you in the parking lot after school'.

On edit: I was at the Dean Milwaukee rally last night, & you should have heard the sarcasm dripping from his voice when he mentioned North Korea. He said (not verbatim, sorry), "North Korea is on the verge of becoming a nuclear power because george bush didn't want to talk to them, because he doesn't like them".
