Now I know what a Moran American feels like!

For the last week because of Charley, I've had no internet, no phone and no Cable TV. All I've had was two local channels and the local fishrap. That's it....

Now realize that a great amount of folks out there have just that, the paper and local TV. It is so fucking limited and void of any actual substance. With just that info source it's so easy to be mislead and propagandized...(is that a word?)

You need anything? I'm right up the road.

The Orlando Slantenel is good for just a couple of things,,, Rapping fish and the bottom of a birdcage...

I took care of my mother last fall (in Florida, no less) and was restricted to only an hour or so on the net at night, after my father had gone to sleep. He's not nuts enough to watch Pox News, but the network stuff was driving me crazy. Forget the Orlando Fishwrap, the only good thing in that paper was For Better or Worse.

You really get a feel for why the polls for Chicken George are the way they are. Pollsters can only reach the people who answer their wired phones, you know, the ones with no answering machines or dial up internet service to gum up the lines. Those are the poor slobs who get home from work and flop down to watch network news and think they have a clue.

I have a great deal of sympathy for these folks, but I realize there's a huge divide out there between those of us with access to the net and those without. They're not the way they are because they're dumb; they're the way they are because they're treated that way.
