Kerry testimony before Congress, last night on CSPAN!!
Did anyone else see John Kerry's complete testimony before Congress(CSPAN) last night.

I was blown away. This was not a man with some "master plan". This was not a man blaming fellow Vietnam soldiers for atrocities. This was not a man bragging about war medals.

This was a very educated, deeply passionate war hero that loved his country and cared deeply for his fellow soldier.

I would love to see this played in its entirety to all Americans(especially veterans). I think it would wake a lot of people up on this issue.

1. testimony
That would be to civilized to show the "whole" story. I'm so tired to hearing about what happened 35 years ago. What about NOW!

2. Dawgs,
I watched it in it's entirety as well. Not only was I blown away by JK's eloquence and how he brought up questions of leadership and ethical questions regarding the appropriateness of armed conflict, issues that certainly apply to Iraq today, but I was also duly impressed by the caliber of the questions and responses of the Senators from both parties. My how the national dialogue has digressed so much over a relatively short amount of time.

So absurd that the tape has been edited by the SBV's in such a diabolical way.

I was very tired but I then switched to Nightline and saw then
Gov.* making lamo excuses for abuses in Texas prisons that were strikingly similar to what has occurred in Abu Graib.

Kerry exposed abuses, war crimes, and violations of human rights. * has consistantly made excuses for them.

In as much as many of us don't see the relavance of what happened 30 years ago, the parallels are undeniable.

It struck me once again how * is so far less than Kerry's worthy opponant. That might be one of the reasons why this election is so unbelievably frustrating for so many of us.

3. Like it or not...
Kerry has taken a big hit by the Swifty Liars. Many people vote based on one particular issue or item. What he said when he came back from Vietnam was one of those items.

You may want to ignore this, but it could help to swing the vote to Bush.

4. Thanks stellanoir,
I was starting to think I was the only one that felt this way.

I agree, what I found so interesting were the comparisons to today and the Iraq war. I also thought it showed how passionate and compassionate John Kerry was at such a young age. The way he spoke blew me away.

My point is that I think it sells him better at that time in his life. To me, it really has nothing to do with the Vietnam war. Many people vote an image and this video shows that Kerry is more than the media has let us see.

Finally, I loved how he talked about race issues, the Vietnameze as a individual people(Iraq comparison), and the way he represented those that agreed with him.
