Very brief rant, to nobody in particular
If you're going to continue to revel in your attacks of combat veterans who have selflessly spilled blood in the service of this nation, which you profess to love a whole lot more than I do for reasons which I will never understand, then I think you should take that fucking stupid magnetic Tony Orlando-channeling jingoistic cheap-ass suddenly ironic ribbon off of your damned car.

Be consistent. It's all I ask.

}(

Purple Heart Band-Aid Lady, I'm looking in your direction.

1. Wonder how long before they start making
a magnetic purple heart bandage sticker for their cars? I think they're just clueless and classless enough to do it.

2. Two questions
for these bozos:

1. Did you serve your country in the military?

(if no): 2. Are your children serving in the military?

(if yes): 2.Do you support a government that cuts veteran's benefits?

3. There were more than just that 'lady'
There was a 'gentleman' also who was interviewed.

 :grr: I said to someone else I would keep my choice words quite on these :grr: but I will let you use your own imagination to fill in the blanks.

7. I hate republicans
I swear I do. I know "hate the sin, not the sinner" but I cannot even listen to any of them. In the paper this morning were three op/eds by David Brooks, William Safire and Newt Gingrich. I almost had to call in sick to work! If I had a bird I would line the cage with that page or I would wrap a fish with it.

8. Don't you find it amazing
the HATE this administration generates? I have disliked pols before, but never felt this absolute HATE before. And, like you, I find that HATE being passed on to all repugs I know, and I don't like that feeling in myself at all, because it encompasses some of my friends and family. What a phenomenon...what a legacy of the present administration.

9. I have never seen anything like it
I mean I hated Reagan but I can't remember wanting to scream at the TV every time he came on. I have to leave the room when my relatives make some kind of RW comment. I am afraid of what I might say. I am sad too because I have realized that most of my family are RWers. I knew my Dad was a republican but I never thought of him as being hateful. I don't think he is really because I heard him say once that he thinks we need socialized medicine, like Canada. But he blames the spiraling health care costs on doctors and hospitals that need all the latest equipment. He also thinks teachers get paid too much. Well where he lives the pay is pretty good but there is a high cost of living too. So I am not sure what to make of him. I have not asked him about Kerry or who he is voting for (I have a pretty good idea). Basically I avoid all political discussions with my family. I have also found out that my sister is a racist. Or at least she made what I considered racist statements. About how black people in Memphis (where she lives) are so rude. She made a comment about some African Americans at a casino in Tunica who complained about the rain. She (my sister) joked that they didn't want to get their hair wet and "well it's not like they wash their hair every day", I was floored. I had no idea what to say. She has two small kids. I hate that they are going to grow up with those attitudes too because my brother in law is just like my sister. I want to disown my family sometimes.

I didn't mean to hijack this thread. What the Republicans are doing to verterans like Kerry and Cleland is disgusting.

10. You didn't hijack the thread, we are all feeling the same pain
as you are. Am in the same situation as you are, with my family and friends. And you know what gets me about them too? They are such CHRISTIANS, or what they call Christians. I just can't believe they can't see that their brand of Christianity is so hateful and hurtful. This admin has made me see my family and friends in a different way....but, I guess we just can't give into the hate, or their "side" will have won more than the election, they will have won our souls.

11. I know exactly where you are at.
There is one liberal left in my family besides myself; my sister-in-law.
Wonderful woman. She married a hippy in '74 and he now refers to middle-easterners as "ragheads."

13. With your permission, I think I'd like to print up a bunch of notices
with your words on it, and put it under the wiper of any car I see with this dumb thing on it.

Be consistent, indeed........ how in the world can they put one foot in front of the other with such a huge brain disconnect????

14. Be my guest.
And, I'm honored and thankful that you found my rant worthy. :-)

Let me add this... at work today, I got into a heated discussion with a Bush Apologist who thinks Kerry didn't earn his Purple Hearts. He kept scratching his skin, and saying, "OH! Look! Purple Heart!!"

I think we should go to Iraq with measuring cups. We should measure the amount of blood that a young man or woman must let in order to earn a Purple Heart. What do you think? 1/4 oz? 3/4 oz? A cup, maybe? Would that satisfy Republican chickenhawks? When will they be happy that you're patriotic enough to wear the Purple Heart? What is the standard, exactly? 3/4 oz? A cup of red American blood in the service of one's nation?

:grr:  :grr:
