If only Dean's wife had said she would be "happy to be First Lady..."
Edited on Wed Sep-01-04 05:39 PM by KoKo01
If Only...but I understand...she had a career..and didn't want to give it up over "Howard's Whim." But...if only..it would have been very interesting...even if we lost..we might have felt it was "interesting." Dean would have given back what he was given...and he has been correct on THE WAR...and COLOR CODE ALERTS! But, no one want's to hear it.

Dreams gone by of "what might have been."

And...if my favorite "Moseley-Braun" had run and picked an "interesting" running mate...I would have been waxing nostalgic for "what might have been."

A "musing post" ..put out in GD Forum...just as a "what might have been." I hope Mods won't move this to 2004 Forum where I will be attacked...it's just a "speculation" post..in GD for GD...

2. Hey...Kucinich was right about most stuff...but no "wife" no coverage....
He still has supporters here in NC who are the "Activists" of the Dem Party ...along with Dean supporters...so they haven't died...they will live on to fight another day..

Problem is...will we have time for another "day" with another 4 years of Bush. nothing left..Phoenix from the Ashes, scenario?

4. Yup, shallow US can't allow themselves to go for those with depth
"No wife" is about as shallow as it gets...... much better to ........ oh well, no use getting flamed for something that doesn't matter.

Kanary, who doesn't feel the "another day"......... some of us have run out of luxury of time.......

11. Possibly...but I don't think for a minute we deserve more of Chimp....
I'm not responsible for him, nor are you...but our Democratic Party Leadership is...they are the ones who let us down...those of us who supported and believed in them..thinking there was a "true" difference.
:-(

13. well, that's a big switcheroooo.... from dean and kucinich, suddenly now
it's bush.

Forgive me if I'm having a really hard time to follow you.

Since I didn't bring up *, I really don't know where this is coming from.

Just the standard DU answer?

To repeat, Dennis Kucinich was right about the war, and about so many other things. A Kucinich presidency would do wonders for this country. If you can't handle that he is without a wife at the moment, then I guess we'll just settle for .....

14. It's not me who can't handle Kucinich is without a wife....it's the
American Public who is looking at Laura Bush as the symbol of the last passing of what "old America" was all about.

See how the Bushies postion us against each other? Laura=Family Values=Making Bush Hubbie give up his booze and coke when "twins are born"=Bush from wealth family golden boy...has "rebellion" but marrys a "good woman" who turns him from the "dark side" to "light" and they have two "hellion daughters" who are just like what the rest of America is dealing with (we see it on Reality Shows)=Bush is the NEW FAMILY MAN...suffering through trials and tribulations with a "good women" and daughgters "who have flaws" = The AMERICAN FAMILY fighting today against terrorism, Kobe Bryant-Scott Petersen-Amber Alerts against those folks who (paraphrasing Bush followers) "want to steal our babies from us and rape them and them women who kill them babies and and then use them for research and all that "filth" they see on that Liberal Media tells them this is what they should do!"

In their minds: "George and Laura stand for US...those Americans who don't want those terrists after us..and if we fight them "over there" they won't come "over hear" and George and Laura will keep us safe..and they are just like us...their children are doing what our kids are doing...what the hell...we can't control what our kids do...but at least we know we raised 'em with FAMILY VALUES...Not OUR FAULT if they GO WRONG..is it?

Your post, #6.

I really can't follow you....... seem to be all over the map tonight.

We get what we deserve --seems to be true......

3. It's too bad that those who would really shake things up....
would also have zero chance of winning. Sad really.

5. This is a crisis-oriented society.
Things will be "shook up", alright, but it will most likely come in a crisis.

Isn't that just swell?

8. But, sadly the "Crisis" is driven by the "Whore Media" so how do we know
WHAT to believe, anymore? I hate being pushed into some "Poll Model/Advertising Module/Consumer Statistic/Blot..because I'm an "Average Amercian" but not a "Fundie/Christian/Bush Globalist/War Mongering/PNAC Supporting...Average American.

9. There *is* such a thing as a Real Crisis, y'know.....
Maybe you haven't been caught in one (yet), but plenty of us have.

This society doesn't want to look ahead to heading off a crisis....... it waits until it is upon us.

I'm sure you can think of examples.

10. I believe we ought to abolish the office...
...of First Lady.

What? No such office was ever established by law or Constitution? How could that be? It seems like such a revered institution.

12. I know...but it's a great way to get to those "fundie's" who believe that
"mother & home" is the most important thing in the world. I believe it, also...but know that there might not be traditional ways of expressing this..and that the "Norman Rockwell" version of Families...is long dead..and that "friends" are often more loyal and supportive than real "blood" families and that folks who have "different strokes" shouldn't be lumped into some "Poll Number" of some antiquated view of what America WAS or IS today..
