Kerry ----> Dean ?
Is it me, or is Kerry using this speech tonight to morph himself into Howard Dean for the general election???

I mean, "all hat, no cattle" is definitely a Dean line... Other clear Dean echoes, too, throughout the speech...

10. It's definitely a Texas based phrase
And Molly Ivins has used it often. Probably Ann Richards as well. And yeah, the Doc did use it effectively as well. But being from Vermont, I doubt he'd seek the copyright on that one.

14. dennis is a sellout, sold iowa votes to edwards
dean is the true anti-war candidate. dennis is a cheap sell out. little munchkin giving his supporters false hope of winning and wasting their time. what is dennis doin g now and compare that to the work howard is putting in. dennis sucks, he wants to be howard.

22. I wondered about that too
One thing he did was make a point (twice) to say the power is in our hands. That's straight from Dean...and it was a big thing for how he energized us.

But I'm sure they don't mind at this point. Excellent speech, in my view.

7. Has Kerry always said "idear"?
Yeah, I know he's from New England, but I don't seem to remember him saying that in the primaries, so is that a borrowed "Deanism"?

8. I live in cattle country
this is not a Dean line. It is a very old cowboy saying. Sorry, Dean did not come up with this.

11. I wasn't saying he invented it...
In fact, he got it from grassroots supporters in Texas on his blog. But, he is the only one in this campaign I saw use it... until tonight.

12. If Kerry can "morph" himself...
...and catch some of the Dean energy, and still WIN, realizing that the media is NOT our ally, then I'm all for it. Just remember, Dean is an independent operator, and does not officially advise the Kerry campaign.
