Daily Show Was AMAZING Tonight! Totally RIPPED Zell!

This was one of the best Daily Show moments ever. The whole show was hilarious, even McCain (who's ALWAYS on) was funny and agreed that Zell was over-the-top. And a feature towards the end where they showed the press perks for the RNC and interviewed different Republican delegates (incl. one who'd never seen a black person before) was hilarious.

But the best bit had to be the opening segment. Stewart said something along the lines of the GOP finally revealing "the angry green monster" underneath the facade. They took some quick shots at Mitt Romney and Dick Cheney, that were pretty funny.

But then Stewart UNLOADED on Zell! It was stunning. In the corner he had a corner frame that showed a closeup of Zell, his face with righteous anger and his hands flailing, with flames surrounding him. The box said: Zell on Earth.

He played a clip of Zell's speech then cutaway and impersonated a dinosaur or a viscious bird of prey (I can't describe it - it was beautiful). Then he rattled off other clips. Then, in a priceless moment he played the clip of Zell declaring "The country is being ripped apart by the Democrats' manic obsession to bring down our commander-in-chief." Stewart cutaway and impersonated Zell in a mock-Southern accent: "How DARE the Democrats field a candidate in a presidential election!.

Then he played clips from Zell's CNN appearance, first Zell denying that he was "angry" then then after a nice dig at Matthews ("For the first time ever, Chris Matthews decided to actually play hardball") he played the clip of Zell challenging Matthews to a duel. Stewart's commentary: "Zell Miller, Building a Bridge to the 18th Century".

My words can't do the show justice. PLEASE watch it during one of the reruns. It was fantastic.

I mean, his view of what the democratic party should be reminds me of those old Southern dixiecrats that we were glad to shed.

Either that, or he's trying to get back at Dems who have ticked him off in the past. I have personal reasons to loathe the man and everything he stands for. It only takes one day to change your opinion of someone, that's for sure.

Your hate and anger will bring you to the dark side. Then you will be mine.

and I loathe thieves and murderers and those who bear false witness. I loathe the cold-hearted and the cruel. I loathe preventable diseases and those too greedy to help prevent them. I loathe a great many things and consider this proof that I live always on the side of truth, no matter how much that bright light hurts YOU, friend.0*)

And I definitely want to see it.

And I definitely recommend this one to everyone I can get to. It was truly awesome despite McCain's brief presence.

McCain was pretty blatently critisizing the tone of the convention and campaign. And Jon focused on that for the entire interview.

in his cheek. he was being a good sport, I thought.

the Zell thing was classic TDS. right to Colbert "slapping" him with the glove--oh, my lord, i was killing myself laughing. too perfect.

Maybe this is just a ruse to infiltrate the GOP and assist the GOP implosion.... :)
