Is Vince McMahon a republican?
Being a wrestling fan I noticed something sinister in the WWE:

That they are pro-war (I remember a long time ago when Hucksaw Jim Duggan said that our troops were "fighting for our freedom" in Kuwait during Gulf War I)

That they treated the French like sh*t (French wrestler Renee Dupree is a heel (bad guy) because of his nationality.)

They are corporate sleezeballs

And one of Hulk Hogan's fans was Arnold Schwarzenegger (you know, our "beloved" governor of California)

Is this some kind of GOP scheme for wrestling fans to support Bush? Or is Vince McMahon a Republican ass-kisser of something?

1. Nascar Dads
and Wrestling kind of go hand in hand. It wouldn't surprise me if Vince was a repuke.

And since I think most NASCAR fans also watch wrestling, it's just Vince's subtle way of getting a plug in for the repukes.

10. NOT TRUE!
I know many, many, intelligent liberals who love wrestling (albeit mostly independent) and I don't know any who like Nascar. That is an old stereotype.

2. Pure Cynicism.
Trust me, it's just a story line. That's all it is. Think of wrasslin' as a soap opera with physicality. If the people cheer, it stays. If they yawn, it goes.

I'm told that Nikolai Volkoff wasn't actually a Communist, but keep it under your hat.

4. I use to watch WWE myself but stopped after 9/11 because it got
too jingoistic for me. But wrestling has always been jingoistic to an extent.

But to answer your question I believe he is. On C-span they showed the young republicans convention and one of the speakers was a wrestler. John Bradshaw Flaye or something like that was his name but I recognized him even though I don't remember his wrestling name.

11. he's a financial analysist.
worked for CNBC too. He was fired after many wrestling fans e-mailed the station because he was goose-stepping at a wrestling show in Germany. I wish they would have done the same to the RNC!!!

6. I don't know if he is or not
But I'll give the WWE points for their non-partisan effort to get their fans registered. They've had wrestlers appear at both Democratic and Republican conventions, so they do walk the walk when it comes to bipartisan registration.

9. Absolutely
They're doing a great job of staying non-partisan and trying to get people involved, be them Democrat or Republican. Considering they have a young audience, their efforts to get people involved is admirable.

8. McMahon
RePUKEblican billionaire.

A big time beneficiary of Bushshit's $2 trillion dollar corporate welfare scheme. Undoubtedly his stock portfolio, like that of William F Buckley, features highly profitable oil stocks. So it is natural that he will present a show that praises the criminally illegal war.

Of course, it is no secret that McMahon was a draft dodger during the 1960s. His story is well known in NYC (my original hometown).

McMahon = :scared: = chichenhawk

12. If he is, it doesn't show in the WWE
As another poster mentioned, their aim is to polarize, to stir up emotions and suck you in, like a soap opera - it's entertainment, it's not trying to change minds or celebrate points of view. And what's more polarizing than Republican points of view?

15. $$$ talks
What billionaire wouldn't approve of corporate welfare?

A few weeks into Bush's criminally illegal war, Brock Lesnar apeared in Twin Cities radio (he lives in Minneapolis --- I live in St Paul) and started out a show by saying that this war is for your good and that you better like it.

Why did McMahon feature so many of his wrestlers with soldiers?

Why put soldiers in front seats of auditoriums and highlight them?

And why all the pro-war talk?

Obviously, it's because draft dodger McMahon heartily approves of the war. One that he refused to fight in during Vietnam and one where he refuses to send his own children.

Of course he's a Repuke. You can't be that culturally retarded and be a Democrat -- unless you're a fake one like Ron Silver.
