I understand why people downplay Kelley book...
Edited on Sat Sep-04-04 12:28 PM by slor
I mean her books are full of tawdry, and no doubt, false details, Right? Everybody knows that when you travel to Asian countries, underage girls come to your room for sex. And it is quite common for babysitters to get hit by their own car in a driveway, shit happens all the time. And about the sex ring cover-up, puhleeze. That would be like saying that the media did not mention the hinckley-bush dinner plans the day after reagan was shot. We all KNOW that was well-documented by the news! Right?
What I am saying is, do not discount the importance of this book, and for heaven's sake, DO NOT defend the BFEE here, by alluding her book is crap prior to reading it, due to some things that sound outrageous. These fuckers have perpetrated outrageous acts, I will certainly put my trust in her, over them. I welcome it, and I will promote it. May the * family rue the day they entered politics!

1. Here Here
People disguise there crimes in outrageous acts all the time. What's so strange about that? Anyone who doubts this book, hasn't been paying attention. I support Kitty Kelly 100%....

The bfee is some sick mo fo's and they need to be brought out into the light. This book only scratches the surface of the sociopathology these guys represent.

12. The Family : The Real Story of the Bush Dynasty
From the Inside Flap:

"They have wielded enormous financial power and dominated world politics for more than half a century. They have been appointed to positions of great power and have been elected as governors, congressmen, senators and presidents. They have shaped our past and, with our country at war under the leadership of their number one son, they are, more critically than ever, shaping our future.
.
.
.

"Perhaps most impressive--and surprising--is the way the book delves behind the obsessively protected public image into the family's intimate private lives: the matriarchs, the mistresses, the marriages, the divorces, the jealousies, the hypocrisies, the golden children, and the black sheep."

8. Look at the times folks.
Kitty Kelley has to be a brave journalist and be meticulous with her facts to come out with this book. I tend to believe what she writes or else she'd be sued right? I think what she has to say in the book will be important and I, for one, can't wait.

9. The book WILL have an impact
Even if it's all totally made-up tawdry trash. If you look at the Repug Convention, it consisted primarily of empty rhetoric designed to trigger a knee-jerk, almost-Pavlovian emotional response. Those people thrive on gossip and even though they may vehemently object to what Kelley says (ala Michael Moore/F911) they'll sure as hell talk about it endlessly for days. The media loves "buzz" and will feed the monster. Scotty will, of course, refuse to dignify the discussion with anything more than a passing dismissal, but it will still give Rove a headache or two, wondering how even the whiff of scandal may effect their always-righteous Fundie Base.

10. We have been talking about Bush family bad things for over two years here.
I think the ones who are saying it will backfire are letting the RNC define the terms again.

The RNC is lecturing us and defining us and keeping us from fighting back.....and we have to stop letting them do it.

Stop letting them define us! Pay no attention to their lectures. Kerry does NOT have to attack in an ugly way, but he must defend himself!
