Carville On MTP re Bush's knowing about Medicare hike before acceptance...
speech "(not from transcript) If the president knew this was gonna happen before he gave that speech, this is a catastrophic event for this campaign". Is he correct? Also said if there's some enterprising journalist out there to take this story...

is it a story?

5. what they are trying to do is to get Seniors to switch over to a private
plan, it seems.

From accounts I have read, few are making the switch and are outraged at being jerked around. Not to mention the added burden of a hundred or more dollars a year added on. So many are living on their SS and relying on Medicare as their health plan.

Goes something like: Up the payments on Medicare, then private plans can come in advertising a lower premium. Voila--switch over complete.

Same thing they do to public schools. Starve them out so everybody gets frustrated with the poor quality of their local public school, and switches over to private or charter schools.

8. You can see Carville's mind at work there
If Carville were running the Kerry campaign you can see that the 17 percent price increase would feature quite large in ad buys and in Kerry speeches. And there'd be an investigation of Bush on what he knew and when he knew it. So the story would continue as new revelations come out.
