Me? I'm a gay DU'er through and through. I haven't run across any LCR DU'ers. Have you?

:D

he would probably like this place if he had time for it. I did catch him scrolling through some of my open threads when he was in town. :-)

12. Then why doesn't he quit that sicko group?
There is not one iota of decency in any part of the GOP platform. Even if Dole or Alexander were president today, the GOP would still be the party whose eventual goal is to put all the nasty gays, abortionists and liberals into the gas chambers.

Oh, and then there is the part about turning the few Americcan workers who still make a living wage into subsistence-level slaves.

21. How can you be a "fiscal conservative" and be a repub?
Repubs are the very opposite of fiscally conservative. Unless "fiscal conservative" is a newspeak way of saying "no taxes for the rich and more taxes for the poor"? Ok, I can see that...

22. Exactly. Doesn't he remember "red-ink Reagan"?
A supply-sider can only be a fiscal conservative if he cuts spending to match his tax cuts. They always slash a few social programs, but leave all the military appropriations (the huge bulk of the budget) intact.

Sorry, but Log Cabin repugs are the lowest of the low - because they oughtta know better.

They are just succking up to the people who have always bullied them.

Hey, wait a minute, that sounds a little like the senate democrats!

25. Not even with spending cuts can a supply sider
be a fiscal conservative unless the spending cuts are about 50% greater than the tax cuts. There is no evidence that supply side cuts are even close to 1:1 on revenue lost vs new revenue, so the spending cuts have to allow for that, too.

Just a pet peeve of mine, the whole 'supply side' boondogle is complete horsepucky even when cast in best light.

2. I once was an officer in LCR here in Denver
Part of my passage from Christian fundamentalist to liberal led me through this organization. The problem was, the more I actually met Republicans, and began to see the different responses between them and our supposed Democratic enemies, the more I liked the Dems. I eventually dropped out of LCR and changed my affiliation.

The fog has lifted ever since.

14. That's great. I was a semi-dittohead (libertarian) until the mid-90s...
When I started to notice that Bill Clinton's "socialist" policies were NOT driving America over the brink as Rush had warned. That sparked my curriosity and a lot of reading about the labor movement and the side of US history that's glossed over in our schools.

I've been a proud liberal ever since.

18. LOL!
"Some queen in Palm Springs", that's great!

I personally know at least two gay Republicans. They're not specifically LCR, they're just heritage repubs. One my partner and I easily convinced to vote for Kerry and a full slate of Dems. The other is a shrill twink-wannabe who proclaims he barebacks and votes republican and he's proud of both. He's a f*cking idiot and I loathe being around him.

10. A Log Cabin DUer sounds a lot like a self-hating Freeper to me.
If you are willing to vote for Kerry, you are not "Log Cabin". You are a moderate gay. You should know that there is no place in the GOP for gays or people who would vote for Kerry.

What is your point?

Sorry, but I don't believe there is such a thing as a "Log Cabin DUer".

If there were, he would be a despicable person a la Matt Drudge on Andy Sullivan. The fact that they are gay doesn't make their anti-human, evil agenda any less despicable.

LC isn't LC without the R is it?

Or was it ever?

I've never heard the terminology broken up like this.

16. Rethugs HATE gays. LCR are just pitiful
when a national party is so determined to keep a group from basic civil rights something is terribly wrong. LCRs need to stop the new age crap and admit that Rs would rather see them shipped to Canada then come to agreement.

LCRs would gain a lot more respect from me if they would be moderate democrats or form their own party. Being assoc. w/ bushie and the religious right wing haters is pitiful and shameful for gays and lesbians.

19. You gotta wonder if
the LCRs are even listening to the hatred the repugs are nurturing. Maybe they've got some kind of dimwitted hope of trying to "reform the GOP from the inside." Me, I'd much rather associate with people whose thinking is more like my own.

20. Let's put this in perspective.... There are FAR fewer gays that are Repub
per capita than there are MEN that are Repub. Same thing goes for WOMEN. And I would venture to guess that the same thing goes for a lot of other minorities. WHY do we even focus on LCRs at all? If there's a real LCR DUer here you can bet that their avatar is a tombstone.

23. What percentage of all gays do the LCR represent?
Maybe .05%? And I only ever hear of male members. I've yet to hear of a log cabin lesbian. Although I'm sure there must be some.

But it's funny how at the Nazi-Con last week, they didn't zoom up on any log cabin repugs the way they did the same 5 black delegates all night.

But Ma & Pa Dumbass Middle America probably sat glassy-eyed, marveling at how "diverse*" the GOP has become.

*The REAL Ma & Pa Dumbass Middle America probably actually said "Dang, Mabel, look at all them coloreds on the TeeVee! Well, they're republicans, so at least they know they place!"

27. Well, even Pat Buchanan is right now and then.
I'll give them half a brownie point for that, but they're living in a fantasy world if they don't think Bush represents the heart and soul of the GOP to a T.

He may be less slick than others, but he's the perfect representation of the religious insanity, jingoism, ignorance and outright malevolence to the poor and working class that the GOP is ALL ABOUT.

29. They may not admit it...
but I suspect there are a few here. Right after the whole Bush/GMA hit its peak, a few brand new gay DUers showed up. They seemed to be liberal on that one issue and fairly conservative on just about everything else.

Not too subtle.

30. There used to be a guy named "Trent" who would post at the Malloy forum.
He was a dittohead pig on every issue other than gay rights/gay marriage, he'd get all pissed if any non-gay liberal's commitment to gay marriage was insufficient or not high enough on the prority list, but when Bush would repeal overtime for workers, or strip Homeland security employees of civil service protections, or when Wal-mart would lock their employees in all night - basically ANY workers' issue - he took the repug anti-worker side, the same went for a whole gamut of other issues. He was FURIOUS that Kerry wasn't ready to endorse full-on gay marriage yet.

Of course he was very young, with little realization of how far gays have come in just the last 15 years, or the patience and compromise it takes to make such change happen...

Ah, the damage O'Really & Limbaugh have wreaked on this country's young minds!
