Get this Straight Now.. There is NO Escape, no place to run to, Bush gets
in, the Future is fucked beyond repair.

We have no choice but to ALL get behind Kerry to put Bush behind us. The man would drive this great Nation to the ground just as he does when riding Segways, Sofas, and Bikes.

Under Bush, we got attacked by terrorist rats who snuck in rather easily...as bush did nothing to upgrade the system as suggested to him many times.

Under Bush we lost too many jobs and regained cheap ones that barely pay the rent.

Under Bush our National Debt increased way past 7 TrillionSSS and our annual deficit is a staggering 500 to 700 Billion$$$

Under Bush we went to war for what amounts to::: OIL at a cost of 1000 lives and 7000 wounded and another 20,000 with PTS. We are not looking good at all.

We have hurt and disappointed too many friendly Nations. Freedom Toast came back to haunt us.

Under Bush, the terrorist attacks will increase and become worse, as the prison escapades and the evangelism efforts have made too many Islamic Fundamentalists crazy with anger.

Under Bush women will suffer.

So will the under classes.

etc etc

3. There is no way Kerry will lose this election if Democrats and progressive
minded folks all act with courage and vigilance. If we have to rattle the media..we'll do it. If we have to monitor every polling place...we'll do it. distribute hand bills....we'll do it.

If we have to drive a van of folks with no cars to the polls...we'll do it.

This is THE election of our lifetime.

Come, we go eat spam musubi.

If the election in November were legitimate, but it won't be.
98 million out of 115 million projected votes will be tabulated, in secret, with no oversight, by Republicans.
As long as Republican Party operatives count the votes in total secrecy, how could any Democrat win?

20. I just posted on another thread that I would be here in Norway,
welcoming dissidents from the US should our worst fears become reality. We've got experience in fighting an occupation, and we will not sit still. If I've understood it right, Norway was the country in the world most opposed to Bush - 74% Kerry. You'd be with likeminded, educated, mostly intelligent, compassionate people.

27. Exactly.
Not to say that Norway doesn't have its own share of problems, even with brown-shirts, but it it's so social-democratic that even its legitimate rightwing parties are practically to the left of the Democratic Party on most social issues. Even with a prime minister from the (centrist) Christian party (a priest, no less) the finance minister is an openly married gay man from the Conservative party.

47. Unfortunately,
Norway, like so many European countries, have all but closed their borders to immigrants, but they do still accept their quota of refugees. Several of my former students were the sons and daughters of political refugees from Iraq, Kurdistan, etc. Right now, we've got a conservative government, who do try to restrict the flow of refugees, especially after some incidents such as when mentally unbalanced refugee stabbed passengers on the metro, killing one and injuring several others, and after the case of Mullah Krekar, one of the leaders of Asar al-Islam, who's got refugee status in Norway.

However, chances are very good that the current government will lose the elections next year, and a liberal leftist government will take its place. I fear the real strike against you will be your passport- people will be reluctant to believe that a Western country would be anything but properly democratic. Everyone knows that despots and tyrants are a dime a dozen in Africa and Asia, but in 'white' countries? No, it can't be so!

I look very Scandinavian, so I thought maybe I could just blend in or something and nobody would notice.

I wonder if things in Europe would change if it was found out that our governement was rounding up liberals/dissenters and putting them in prison camps for trumped up charges of sedition or treason.

I really don't think that it is much of stretch to imagine that if Bush* steals another 4 years.

56. Isn't it scary?
I don't it's that unlikely Bush starts jailing dissenters either. Good thing is, Norway is not member of the EU (no having to fight Blair) and not even the Conservative party will endorse Bush - 74% is a heck of a lot of voters that don't like Bush. We'll probably be one of the firsts to let refugees come.

This at the worst time possible as we run out of resources to feed ourselves and the energy requirements now exceeding the demand from a limited reserve.

The energy crunch comes at a time when we need more to stay alive and hold the status quo and prevents improved systems to emerge solving our pressing problems....

62. Part of me would love to use this opportunity
( the worst case scenario opportunity, that is) to travel more extensively. My father's grandparents came to America from Italy, because they refused to let their sons be eaten alive by Mussolini. And with a daughter and five sons (four of them draft age and one already having served) long I have thought of the irony. That I should now have to leave the "greatest nation on the earth" because another Mussolini-like fascist of extremely low intelligence is running my nation into the dirt and is ready to see my children be eaten alive for his own gains.

Logistically and legally, I cannot take all six of my children with me. And I can't leave one behind. So i will stay and fight to the death for them. And have no fear or qualm about that.

The good thing about PTSD is, you have been in danger before. Some of us become quite fearless, because we have stared directly into the eyes of evil. And we know that evil is SO BAD, we would sacrifice ourselves to see evil destroyed.

Don't know if my Sunday ramblings make sense, but give it all you've got, people. It's too late for fear.

65. Focus on plans for the future
If you really want to convince the "center" to vote for Kerry, then this line isn't the way to go about it.
Most people know that:
Bush couldn't fix, in eight months, immigration and intelligence policies going back to previous administrations at least as far as Carter.
Presidents have limited control over the economy; if there were magic buttons, every president would push them (taxation, tariffs, interest rates, et cetera have effects, but they are gradual, and the President can't change them himself).
Spending bills originate in the House.
Saddam Hussein was an evil despot who killed hundreds of thousands of his own people.
There have been no terrorist attacks on U.S. soil since 9/11.

Talk about Kerry's vision for America. Talk about how he's going to engage France and Germany diplomatically. Talk about the specific steps he's going to take to improve real wages and access to health care. There is a benefit to pointing out the other guy's faults (and, in some cases, some benefit to good, old-fashioned mudslinging), but in general, Americans want a positive, forward-looking message.

66. Nice try
The largest intelligence failure in US history happened on Bush's watch. Not only that, but it happened a month after he was told "BinLaden determined to strike in the US" and he did nothing.

Yeah, Saddam gassed his people. Heard it before.

I hope you enjoy your brief stay here. ;)
