Ivan continues toward Florida
FORT MYERS — Hurricane Ivan continues its path toward Jamaica, with forecast models now becoming more united about its path toward Florida.

At 5 a.m., Ivan was centered about 225 miles southeast of Kingston, Jamaica. Movement remains to the west-northwest at a slightly slower 13 miles an hour. There's a hurricane warning flying for Jamaica and the Cayman Islands, where the center of the system is expected to be tonight.

Top sustained winds are at about 145 miles an hour, though it could be stronger by this evening. Passage over land the next couple of days is expected to weaken Ivan slightly, but conditions remain favorable for it to remain a powerful hurricane.

The various forecast models are more tightly grouped, ranging from a passage up the west coast of Florida to a path directly over the peninsula. The center of the official forecast cone brings Ivan into the Tampa Bay area late Monday night, but exact location is still hard to forecast this far out.

I know somw are really tired of hearing about the woes in Florida, But I am right in it's path again & I just hope & pray that all head to the warnings & everyone stays safe.

5. Hang in there
I'm in Gainesville and just got back my electric yesterday. Another major storm right now will really suck. That's all I can say.

7. you must be exhausted
I know how it feels to live with constant stress....3 hurricanes in 30 days is unbelievable.

Hunker down and stock up as best you can.

Take care.

And remember, this too shall pass.
