5. LA Story
"There is a good possibility that Clear Channel will soon do some shuffling of its stations. The sports-talk lineup now heard on XTRA (690 and 1150) might move to KLAC (570), with 690 becoming an oldies station and 1150 a carrier of the Air America talk network."

That is all that LA TIMES article says about Air America.

9. That's great...
But why not Austin? I'm curious...the most liberal city in the state, and one that I actually visit with some regularity!

Got my fingers crossed for ya....

10. Houston, we really need Air America
There's nothing but wingnuts on the radio here. It would be terrific to have AA.

3. I wish they would broadcast in Washintgton, DC,
so that they would be a bigger part of the national debate; get heard by more national reporters.

15. here in asheville
we're excited. starts monday.

what do folks think about AAR's increasing dependence on clear channel?

in the future AAR might be very beholden to clear channels wishes -- they may have an increasing veto power over AAR programs.

16. I know
All these Crap Channel stations that now have Air America either tape delay Randi Rhodes (like in Portland, OR) or they only air her show's last hour live so they can have Ed Schlitz for the preceding 3 hours. CC has done ALL they can to keep Randi from being syndicated. But now that she went outside of CC, it seems to me, they are doing all they can to STILL keep her contained on these AAR owned CC stations (like Miami, San Deigo, Ann Arbor, etc.) I just hope they don't pull a "HOWARD STERN" and dump all the AAR stuff a few weeks before Nov. 2 claiming "well it didn't get any ratings..." or some bullshit like that. Crap Channel as we all know IS scumbag enough of a company to pull shit like that.

18. I think a whole bunch more are coming...
...in addition to Atlanta, Boston, Houston, Asheville & LA. Look at the most recent batch of new stations! Philly, San Diego, Denver, Reno, Columbus, Albuquerque, Madison, Santa Barbara & Ann Arbor! That's a LOT for just TWO WEEKS!!!!!!!!

So I have faith that Chicago and many other big cities (San Fran, Seattle, DC, Dallas, Detroit, Cleveland, etc.) should be soon to follow!
