4. He's 87 years old!!

Are you going to be doing as good a job working for your country, day in and day out, at that age??

He could have gone back to WV and lived the good life in peace for the last several years. He chose to stay and keep fighting this mess, and has been the most outspoken one in the Senate. To chide him for disabilities due to his age is a little ......... silly, at the very least.

5. Good for him. I don't know how well I'll be doing at that age,

much less if I will even be alive. Irrelevant. Chide? Only reporting the facts.

Kudos to Byrd for fighting the good fight, but when you need help from the audience to complete your sentences for you, it's time to sit down.

6. I'm saving this post.

When people talk about how Dems don't have the politicians to speak up for them, I'll point to this in explanation of why that is.

Further, I will call his office on Monday to thank him for standing up for Dems everywhere, and remind others to do the same.
