1. He really is a good one: intelligent, articulate, quick-thinking - we
could do worse than have him as Secretary of Defense in a Kerry cabinet...
I really really like the General.

2. He's an ass-kicker
and a name taker! I'm glad he's aboard the Kerry campaign.

5. If Wes started his campaign 6 months sooner he would soon
be President.Unfortunately Clark's only gottn up to world class politcal speed after he withdrew. His speech at the DNC was excellent among many excellent speeches. Nothing against Kerry who is a fine candidate and patriot, but Wes Clark is kind of like what if Clinton was a general and a war hero. Hopefully when Kerry wins, Wes will have role worthy of his greatness.

12. And just think, how many people could have gone
from 0 political experience to world class, as you call it, in such a short time.

I supported him because he wasn t a hack politician, with prepared sound bites. I like him because of his brilliance, his honesty, & his character.

He sees the big picture, politicians concentrate on tiny sound bites.

10. If Jesus was running, they'd say he was a soft on terrorism.
Clark has Clinton's gift of explaining complex things in a simple down to earth way with a Southern accent.

11. Isn't he marvelous?
I came across this speech on C-Span last night by accident, and was very impressed. It was a brilliant analysis which debunked the viability of the smirky doctrine, and celebrated the successes of policies of containment. Yes Wes, those are the facts.

The most intriguing part, for me, was his pointing out that there has been no coherent strategy in the US since the end of the Cold War. I agree. I don't think anyone is really on the right track -- it's shocking how inappropriate policies and actions are for the modern world.

It was a wonderful talk overall.

I have to find a transcript!!

I supported Wes Clark for Prez.

We were so lucky back in the 50s, when conservatism was on the rise, to have Ike as Prez. He called out the military/industrial jackals -- he was too great a military man to fall for their bullshit. Alas, today, the military/industrial complex is in power, and they are indeed in the process of crucifying mankind upon a cross of iron.

Wes could have been the guy to call the jackals of our own day out. I do earnestly hope his talent and vision will be tapped forthe Kerry administration, and beyond.

14. I agree with you on his analysis on lack of strategy...
And I thought he was right on, when talking about the Dem Party...how they have to be a FULL SERVICE party. Take care of people at home with health care, education, etc. But they also need to protect our country & citizens from threats here & abroad.
