George W. Bush

Bush himself would acknowledge that he drifted as a young man. He graduated from Yale University in 1968 with a history degree. The Vietnam War was raging, and Bush was able to avoid being sent to the front by joining the Texas Air National Guard. He underwent two years of flight training and served as a part-time fighter pilot until 1973. Trying to find a direction to his life, he entered Harvard Business School and graduated with an MBA in 1975. He then returned to Texas, where he married Laura Welch, made an unsuccessful run for Congress, then started an oil and gas business.

It took me few moments to "get" your subject heading. Got it. Good one. (He was never more than a trainee.)

It fits well with the line I heard earlier today on CSPAN, in their broadcast of the Veterans Institute for Security and Democracy press conference.

    "The difference is, in Vietnam -- as opposed to Iraq-- George Bush had an exit strategy."

The Ross Volunteers. They are the offical Honor Gaurd for the Governor of Texas.
