Has any cable news talked of K Kelley??
Edited on Mon Sep-13-04 10:20 AM by berner59
I haven't seen one mention yet!! MSNBC is talking of a new tell all about Michael Jackson but doesn't Kelley's book come out today or tomorrow?? Are they waiting until tomorrow when they can get their hands on it?? I supposed that's it... Ah - just now...on MSNBC...wow I didn't see the Today show thing - Kelley is pretty credible...saying how Neil threatened her about this...wow!!

4. I did see Sharon this morning -
If you didn't - pay attention to how scared she looks and how she hedges/pauses on the drug question and then Matt helps her with the "he didn't do it at Camp David"...

7. I was intrigued by the quote
attributed to Sharon, "Who would say that?" regarding Camp David and cocaine use. I have no problem thinking that Sharon was spilling her guts to Kitty at lunch and actually asked, "Who else said that?" Surely Sharon knows that she isn't the only person who has this information, but the only one who has gone on record (sort of). It makes sense to me that she would love to not be the only snitch. She looked scared out of her mind this morning. Matt was desperately trying to limit the questions to Camp David. Kitty is no fool, she's got plenty of other cocaine stuff attributed to other sources on tape, I suspect.

3. I would not expect Imperial Cable Pravda to discuss such things
Like asking if 1955 Soviet TV was going to mention Trotsky, or Nazi TV doing a feature on an anti-Hitler book author.

Given Pradva Amerikan-style, it will likely be swiftly mentioned, sneered at, so the Pravda Whores can have plausible deniability.

5. Anderson Cooper did
His guests were E.J. Dionne, Tucker Carlson, and (sorry, I forgot her name) the lady who co-hosts Capital Report on CNBC.

While I fully believe anything negative about our current "president," Kelley's journalistic style leaves much to be desired. She incorporates many tactics that many of us here on DU abhor when used against our guy. I now call it Malkin-style reporting....."well, I'm not saying that this is true, but SOME people have said...." The use of so many anonymous sources just doesn't hold water. There are plenty of negatives against *, without having to resort to gossip-mongers like Kitty.

8. "The use of so many anonymous sources" is
now widely used in the mainstream press -- in fact, nearly more widely used than the opposite. You can denounce it, but just remember that it's good enough for the so-called REAL journalists these days. And if you don't think the teevee coverage of the SwiftBoatLiars thing has been gossip-mongering (since they've all patently refused to do anything but give those stories some moral equivalency to the truth), you just haven't been paying attention.

I'm not defending these practices, I'm just pointing out that Kitty Kelly isn't any worse than the so-called professionals.

9. I'm just trying to be consistent
I don't like it when it happens to us, and as much joy as I get out of having it done to them, it still feels a little sleazy.

6. On the today show, Sharon Bush looked and sounded terrified. Obviously,
Bushco has twisted her arm severely to take back the things she said to Kelley. Amazing how they can trash her by totally disowning her for divorcing Neil (and it's not even her fault, he was the one fooling around), and now they expect her to support them against Kelley. They must really have threatened her to make her look so scared. I felt sorry for her. I can imagine Barbara making the call to authorize the hit if Sharon didn't play ball.
