Hilarious irony on TV "Moore's rock" coverage...
the shot is showing a big plaque someone brought, in front of all these knuckle-dragging morons lying on the ground. The verse on the plaque says "Do not bow down to idols."

3. I just got into a discussion on this
with some co-workers in our employee lounge who are watching this "coverage" on TV. One co-worker says it should stay because everyone always invokes God when something horrible happens, yet they want separation of church and state. I told him while I understand his POV, it's simply againt the law to have it there, and Moore was told to remove it. He's a judge and should abide by the law but didn't. He's not above the law and what is taking place with these people (protestors or what have you) is just sickening. Not to mention that the granite display is a monument to greed, not to serve God. I asked my co-worker what he knew about Judge Moore and he said nothing, he didn't know anything about him, just about the 10 Commandments flap, which he saw as ridiculous, that it should stay where it is. It went back and forth and I gained nothing except to air my side and to dispense some much-needed background on Moore. I guess it becomes a "monumental" waste of time to try and reason with some people.

4. *A criminal before Moore's court*
Moore: You broke the law.

Criminal: So did you. Who are you to judge me? I only answer to a higher power (God). Not some tinhorn Pharisee judge.

5. Funny. I just had a run-in in my lounge too!
This guy said that the Federal judge is violating the law because it's the feds interferring in state's rights. He says that the ruling was illegal. He goes on to say that it sets a precedent (the old slippery slope wive's tale) that the Feds can tell a state government that they could not have square tables in their cafeterias, if the Feds forced them to buy round, and goes further to say that ban the purchase of any old plain jane table if it was made by a Christian company. I gave up after that.:eyes:

7. Just Remind Them What States Rights Is Most Famous For
As in poll taxes, separate water fountains, separate schools and other wonderful forms of segregation.

Hypocrites.

8. Slavery...
used to be a state right. There is no rationalizing with a fundie. They always want to tell you about their religion--but when I ask them if they want to hear about my religion, they walk away in disgust.

9. State rights can not super seed Feds.
I think that is in all our history. Even the state gov. constitution must be in line with the feds. We could not run the country the other way and we did try for years and years.

11. The future(Warning:offensive speculative satire)
Legend has it the stone fell from the sky, knocked down by an angel who inscribed Elizabethan words on its sides just in case people didn't get the original Hebrew.

Hollowed out and turned into a water cooler, the priestly employees at the Temple of justice strictly observe the directive to only press the button once to get the water flowing.

The whole building wrapped in a white sheet as thousands of pilgrims dressed in white robes and white hoods circle the building seven times blowing trumpets. Every entrepreneurial Christian cult leader in the world profits from these obligatory tours and food concessions and talisman keychain stands.

In the taverns and hostels and amusement parks of the surrounding area
a scandalous profiteering and immoral blight does not deter the throngs of the the faithful. Some of them even look down on and even avoid these temptations.

A Bush descendant, suffering from an unknown condition, is carried on a litter around the Sacred Stone by hearty Promise Keepers. Respectful reporters in hushed and reverent tones, as they do every year, repeat the legend and interview prominent pilgrims.

It has been many many years since anyone except the High Priests descended from Jerry Fellbad have been allowed to gaze on the words themselves.

Whatever they were.
