Be proud Freepers, you took an old man's cholesterol meds from him today
There have been a lot of Freepers coming over here lately and posting. I've tried to be nice, I've tried to be civil but no more. I went to Walgreens to refill 2 of my 4 meds for this month (249.00 folks). I was standing behind an old man who was arguing with the pharmacist. Apparently his cholesterol meds were not covered and it was going to be close to 200.00, something he couldn't afford. He stood up there, in his veterans cap and told the pharamcist that he needed the prescription but of course, she couldn't do anything about it so she called me up. He just stood there on the side. Thank God and Merciful Jesus my mom has a good job so I can get *my* meds. As for you Freepers, fuck you all. I hope you're proud of yourselves, taking medication from an old man. There was a Freep on here last week saying how we can't force people to change, etc. Screw that. That's just an excuse to keep denying people their meds. You all should be ashamed.

2. I hope...
...the Freepers lurking here are ashamed of themselves, although of course they won't be.

Everyone else - yet another reason to get off our duffs and get John Kerry - and a Democratic Congress! - elected!

3. That is so sad. So now what do people like that do?
Go home and wait to have a heart attack? More stories like this need to get out so people can really see what is happening in this country - to people like them.

7. She actually told him to "come back when he has the money"
and that she would "put it on the side for him" instead of returning the pills to stock.

9. "When he has the money" is the clincher.
I wonder how long she'll be hanging on to those pills?

5. My freeper story for today
On my local Dems board, some asshat just posted details of my home and address. This vile slug has been cyberstalking me and Janet for 4 years. Now that the local board has been freeped (yes, it appeared on FR) I can expect all kinds of chaos.

Slime! :grr:

10. If you don't have a gun, get one. Or five.
It's gonna get real ugly before it gets better.

8. My half sister can't afford her Lipitor either
She is 70 years old and lives off her Social Security. She just has to do without her meds, and try to control her diet. That seems to help, but the meds would help also. She WILL be voting for Kerry.

14. Yep, it was Lipitor
One of the pharmacists had called the insurance to verify that it wasn't covered. He seemed pretty shocked that it wasn't. What is it about that med that makes it not covered?

11. But you don't understand
Dick Cheney needed another $90,000 from the tax cut he voted himself last year. I mean, it's too bad about that old guy and his precious cholesterol medicine (well, not really, but it sounds nice to say it), but I don't think you all understand or appreciate how tough Dick Cheney has it. He can barely scrape by on his fixed government income, and that extra money from the tax cut, along with the $175,000 he got from Halliburton, just barely allowed him to scrape by last year.

Have a heart, would you?
