2. They pulled a *great* head-fake
Advertised wall-to-wall during the games today for the Belichick/Super Bowl segment of the show. That's going to bring a *lot* of viewers in.

Nicely done.

3. This information on the battles in Najaf is long overdue.
Looks like CBS is going to start telling the truth about the debacle in Iraq.

5. "Separating America's hope for Iraq from its current reality"
Edited on Sun Sep-19-04 07:01 PM by IkeWarnedUs
They were just talking about all of the cement baracades being built and how they stretch for miles. I almost flipped when I heard this:

"Pre-fab forts have gone up all around American bases and Iraqi government offices. The ramparts run 16 feet high and miles long in some places - separating America's hope for Iraq from its current reality"

Just when you think the folks at 60 Minutes are "getting it" they start spinning out of control.

America's hope for Iraq IS its current reality! At least the hope of those in charge (PNAC - BFEE). They may not want things this bad, but chaos and fear are exactly what they want now - as long as they can control the message and spin.

I guess there are still some watercoolers with kool-aid at CBS.

On edit - Overall it was a great piece. That's why this hit me so hard. Like they want to shed light, but switched to a lower wattage at the last minute.
