Fox News Puzzel
Edited on Sat Sep-18-04 08:20 PM by In_Transit
Please try to be serious on this. What kind of mentality can digest that Fox News bs ? I know, I know, morons, but some seemingly normal, educated, and otherwise average people go into stupid mode and eat this crap up. There must be some kind of mental vacuum that connects these people.I totally can't see a connection.Anybody have any ideas on what thread connects these warped minds?

1. The true fanatic is a special creature
also the one in need of a leader, a "strong leader" that acts like a father figure

3. Honestly, I think some folks started watching Fox News because
they felt it was more exciting or interesting or entertaining or whatever.

And now they are brainwashed.

9. Not familiar with her, but I did a search
and she DOES appear on a foot/leg worship site, so she's got THAT going for her.

5. deep unquenchable feelings of shame and self-hatred.
Which Fox (and most churches) cater to by making people feel like part of a group that is holier than thou. Just turn the sound off and watch the facial expressions of the newsbots. Nauseatingly cloying.

10. I believe they implant subliminal mind-control impulses in their signal.
No, not really. But I think it'd be fun to investigate, anyway.

11. I've noticed.....
that most have at least one phobia. Teeny weeny phobia, homophobia, some kind of phobia and are very susceptible to the fear tactics of Rove/Chainey/Murdock. This is an education for me.

12. People who are addicted to Fox News are addicted to FEAR.
In my opinion, Fox News markets fear:

Fear of foreigners, fear of blacks, fear of gay people, fear of democrats taking away their right to pray, fear of random crime, fear of attack against us like 9/11. Fear, fear, fear.

They go out of their way to show negative stuff that reinforces out-of-proportion fear of everything.

And . . . people get addicted to that crap. They watch Fox News because they are fear EVERYTHING. They even FEAR turning off Fox News.

Also, they look for people to blame. Who to blame--the foreigners, blacks, gay people, democrats, etc. etc.

They are scared and they blame everybody else and they sit there and let Fox News do that to them day in and day out.

13. Personally, I think there are deep racial undertones
This is the secret lil bond among repukes. They feel like they are being squeezed out of society. They see minorities in all forms growing in numbers and think it's just a matter of time before their days are numbered. You hear this talk from guys like Pat Buchanan, Newt Gingrich and many others.

That's my take on it.

14. They have the stepford view of life. They can't fathom that anyone
could be different than them and be living a correct life. They are control freaks and don't even know it. They think they believe in freedom. Very puzzling to me!

15. I have noticed
a level of arrogance among those with this particular brand of ignorance. I don't know where it comes from because most don't have a pot to piss in.

16. The lies validate their hatred of everything and everyone different.
Fox viewers instinctively react with hatred to every problem in their lives no matter how big or how small. Every failure and disappointment in their lives is the fault of others and those others must be hated. The lies presented on Fox and other conservative media persuade them that their hatred is normal.
