Homeland Securities: The Department of Making Tom Ridge Richer
The open corruption is just breath-taking...

"What do Pfizer, Microsoft, Unisys, Raytheon and Sprint have in common?
1. They've all won fat contracts from the Department of Homeland Security.
2. Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge has his money in all of the companies.
Ridge has divulged in a financial-disclosure report that he has investments in at least nine companies that profit from dealings with his agency, according to the Web site www. politicalmoneyline.com.
Civil as he was to us, Ridge's rep lost it this week when a Congressional Quarterly reporter asked about Ridge's investments - blasting the scribe with "a string of expletives," according to CQ. "

1. Wish the voters realized that is ultimately what all this is about...
MONEY. The whole PNAC thing seems to be some ideaology, but in fact, it's just about controlling enough of the oil countries to make the Bush family and friends rich. I'm not shocked that Ridges' rep flipped out, they don't want us to know this... Oh.. if ONLY AP would pick up on those types of stories.. or better yet, someone on TV.

4. What that makes me wonder....
Florida is way overdeveloped, with many communities having inadequate sewage disposal, etc. I wonder if they're not trying to quietly head off some sort of public health catastrophe caused by the hurricanes....
