Are they dumb or are they just not paying attention?
I was just watching a piece on the Brokaw news in which they were taking random interviews in a Pennsylvania town. Some were pro Bush and some were pro Kerry. One was ABB. What got me was some of the comments in favor of Smirky. One said how she trusted Bush completely. Another commented on how the asshole brought integrity back to the White House. Have these people been off the planet Earth for the last few years? How can anyone in their right mind have any praise for a total fuggup like this? Only thing I can figure is they're brainwashed by the likes of Rushbo and his crowd. Or they may be diehard RWers and just filter out anything that has what they percieve as negative about their boy. Whatever the case, they are in for a big shock when their boy is fired come November.

2. They look at things superficially
I've had people tell me Bush MUST be ok because he's a (drum roll) Christian. Like Kerry is into voodoo or something? Others just see that they got $300 back on their taxes. I've mentioned that they have had state and local taxes rise, but this doesn't sink in. Some people don't want to know the truth.

3. Some people are just so damn lazy and stupid
and they just dont' want to take the trouble of informing themselves. There is a women in my office area who was going to vote for Gore last time and then voted for * because the men in her dept who were all Repubs made fun of her and she felt stupid voting for Gore. That is what she said. Sometimes I just want to bang people's head against a wall because they are so damn dense. But I guess at some point I'd be arrested.

11. You make a good point...
Kerry is a Catholic from day one. * is 'born again' at the age of 40 after getting into all sorts of trouble-and he's the better person?

Same with the military record...who would have thought it would be Kerry that gets all the mud.

I don't get it, I just don't get it.

5. Some people will worship him no matter what.
Many of my "Christian" relatives are this way. No matter what bush does, they will vote for him anyway. They think they are good Christians because they attend service each week. It doesn't matter how they trash or discriminate against others during the week, they are cleansed every Sunday morning. They have completely bought the "chimp is a good Christian" bullshit. I send them emails and they don't even bother to respond. They won't even engage in a debate. Glad they live in a blue state so they screw up the election. What's funny is they are all very racist, but will probably vote for looney alan keyes just because there's an 'r' after his name. It's very sad, but some people are truly beyond reach. Hard to believe these people are my relatives.

6. Jesus had a word for these people
it was "hypocrites". I believe he wanted his followers to

Let your light so shine
Before all men
That all may see your good works
And glorify your Father in heaven.

Funny how so many forget that to be a Christian you have to walk the talk and do good works, not just rely on grace, to follow the teachings of Jesus.

7. LOL.
Yes, that describes them perfectly. They are so embarrassing. Glad they live in another state and I rarely see them.

8. I wouldn't call them Christians.
I call people like that SAULISTS, in that they follow the words of Paul/Saul of Tarsus above those of Jesus Christ.

"The Protestant Reformation was the triumph of Paul over Peter. Modern Fundiementalism is the triumph of Paul over Jesus."

9. It's not so much that they filter
out the negative. They think the same way he does. I can't find the article that I read about the theory that Dems and repugs brains are hardwired differently. Therefore, they will never see eye-to- eye or even understand each other. That explained it for me. Save me a lot of time beating my head against the wall over how 'they' think.

Peace

12. It seems that...
millions of people have a mind set and nothing will change it. Anything that is not in sync with that mindset is completely negated. They will only believe what the want to believe. Logic is not part of the thinking process in that mind set.

13. I agree...
with you 110%. It's pretty scary if you ask me. Especially the 'logic is not part of the thinking process'! Yikes!

10. Because he hasn't had sex with anyone in the oval office (as far as
we know). They hang on that one, and probably will until the day they die! Anything else is excuseable.
