Kerry's debate response to the "incoherent" Iraq position

should be,

"Mr President, sorry you have such difficulty understanding my position on Iraq. I'll make it simple for you.

We voted to give you authority, and you blew it."

If his handlers insist on making it more complicated than that, we lose. Period.

Isn't that one of the rules?

Or is that only about questions? I saw that one of the rules is they can't ask each other direct questions; they can only ask rhetorical questions.

When I first saw that, the first picture that came to mind was the couple having a fight who won't speak to each other, and each tells a mutual friend, "Well you tell him that..." and "You tell her that..." while they're all sitting right there.
