Are any of you getting angry with those who continue to support Bush?
Edited on Tue Sep-28-04 07:35 PM by Windy
Petrified that the man may win the election whether by votes or appointment again? I'm so frustrated. I tried staying away from the media for awhile as it was really getting to me, but I am drawn to find out what's going on. I read the newspapers and the web and I just can't believe what I'm hearing/reading. How can anyone with 1/2 a brain support this crazed power hungry idiot? Can't they see what he's done to the world and don't they care that he's blatantly lied to the citizens of this country and the world? I don't understand. I debate these right wing loons on other blogs, pointing out the facts and they respond with the latest talking points and propaganda. Is it me? Am I the one that doesn't get it? The choice is clear to me. I have two boys. I'm a veteran. I've been out in the world. Bush and his ideologues have to be run out of Washington on a rail before they cause more harm. Don't people listen when Bush says his plan to establish security for the US is to democratize the middle east. Do they not get what he intends? What it means?

Did these pundits not listen to Kerry's speeches? He just gave two great ones in the last two weeks. Why do they want to pollute the airwaves in an attempt to keep Bush in office?

I think the situation is frightening. Am I the only one? No other election in my lifetime has been this important. At no other time in my lifetime (46 years) has the world been so dangerous to the citizens of the continental united states. And its more dangerous than it has to be because of the Machiavellian "Anti Christ" inhabiting the Whitehouse.

I know this is a long and probably very disjointed rant, but I'm having a terrible time understanding what in the hell is going on in this country right now. It almost seems as though there is a greater power at work here as the utter blind loyalty to Bush is simply unbelievable!

I HOPE AND PRAY that the debates go well on Thursday for the sake of my country, my family and my friends both here and abroad. This election is that important!!!

1. People have told me
they must vote for a "Christian" (which implies that Kerry is not). Of course, these same people tell me I'm going to hell, I should not be allowed to live in this country, that I am a terrorist, etc, etc, because of my faith.

What is going on in this country? You talk about fundamentlism! We seem to be taking giant steps backward. What do you do to deal with the frustration?

5. I'm angry and frightened.
What do you think is going to happen when the rest of the world sees that its not just Bush who is their enemy, but also the citizens of the US once bush is re-elected? I think the world is giving the US the benefit of a doubt that the citizens of our country could no possibly re-elect this man. I think if he is re-elected, then we all better batton down the hatches. I'm not saying this as a "ala cheney" scare tactic. I think its a very real possibilty.

Not to mention continued wars in the Middle East and the reinstitution of the draft.

I'm not an alarmist. I'm a realist!

17. Been saying that for awhile
The world doesn't hold us responsible YET.

But they WILL, if by hook or by crook Bunnypants* retains the Imperial Throne.

They will hold all of us responsible for this catastrophe of Orwellian Tyrannical madness.

And, God help me, they will be correct to do so.

May God help us all.

25. May I ask how it affects your family?
I really curious because many I work with claim to be better off including myself. I of course exclude the personal feelings of disgust of giving up the power to the opponent party.

6. I'm as frustrated as anyone - I can't believe ANYONE would vote for
a liar with no remorse or humility. Things were really great under Clinton and the feeling was good all around. This guy is using the lowest common denominator to get and hold power, and the feeling since he has been in office is a depressing paranoia where things only go bad - almost the opposite of Clinton. I guess people care more about their "team" winning than the awful consequences that "winning" might have on future generations.

9. And in fact, not only am I angry with them
but I am taking it personally, too. You know why? They are SUPPORTING an administration that enacts policies that HARM MY FAMILY and the WORLD.

That's why. And that's damn good reasons to take it personally. The bush administration is hateful and divisive and that's just for starters.

So yeah, very very angry. To the point that I don't talk politics at ALL with anyone in my life whom I know to be supporting bush. For the people that I don't know who they are supporting (just aquaintances) I really don't want to know at this point. They know who I support from my buttons and bumper sticker.

11. We are kindred spirits. I feel the same way.
And I find myself beginning to dislike those who considered friends who are "blinded" by the propaganda. I have no respect for anyone that can't think for themselves and through their actions or inaction could likely cause death and destruction in my own family. I think its that critical of a decision!

12. Sadly, yes...
I just cannot seem to understand it. I know that television media is helping his cause so much. But it's just unbelievable that people can trust anything that he says or does. I hope that many more Americans are THINKERS and do not allow the media to make their decision for them. Let's press on!

13. Personally I believe that anyone voting for bush*
can not possibly be a caring feeling unselfish person. Quite the opposite in fact. Selfish self centered self absorbed etc....just like that monster they blindly follow and support.

15. The narrowminded who don't look outside the four corners of their yard!
I really do fear what will happen if he is re-elected. I really think that the rest of the world is in wait and see mode.

Which side are you on, boys?

Edited on Tue Sep-28-04 08:19 PM by camero
The rest just want things for themselves and not anyone else. It doesn't matter how much power Bush gets as long as he just "disappears" liberals, blacks, gays, and the disabled.

Fuck I've been angry at them for 4 years. 6 years counting those who support Jeb.

that anyone with ANY sense cannot see this disastrous excuse for a human for what he is and what he is doing to our country and the world. I find those people intolerable. It is infuriating.

20. Co-worker is a supporter and she has two sons in early 20's...
She has their pictures on her desk.
I know one is a car mechanic, so I would think this might be a good skill for the military. She will only have herself to blame if they are drafted.
Luckily, my boss is a staunch Dem although I am the most outspoken.

21. Windy, if you don't live in Texas you don't know the half of it
Bush sucked as governor too but the media praised him then just as they do now. Why we are immune to such blatant propaganda may be the real question since it would appear there is some sort of mass psychosis going on.

I'm sorry if that offends some, but these republinazis are intent upon destroying us. I can not be civil to them, and would not hesitate to use any means necessary against them.

23. Soooooo Angry. My solar plexis feels constricted.
So I had to let it go. I don't know how I can continue to live in my neighborhood if Bush wins. I have learned it is impossible to have a conversation with a Bushie. I think at best they are uninformed and at worst they are mean-spirited, greedy and self serving. I think mostly uninformed but with no interest in becoming informed.

So now I have turned my attention to getting out the vote. I volunteer everyday at the Kerry campaign while my daughter is in school and canvass when I can. On Nov. 3 I will know I did all I could do.

I also make sure that people know I support Kerry by wearing a Kerry button and telling everyone about my work. I am very clear that in no way am I complicit with the * Adm.

It also is embarrassing to me that so many Americans are so stupid!!!
That is how the world sees us I am afraid.

24. Not at all nor should anyone with at least half a brain
It's a war of ideas and it's up to the two finalists to sell their wares to the people. We must and will accept their choice because that IS the democratic way. Love it or leave it but hate is NOT the answer.
