1. The ACLU.. by all means.
If a topic remotely touched civil rights/liberties, the ACLU can be all over it - and quickly. They have a very impressive record when it comes to racking-up victories in court, and they often do a more effective job than many single-issue other interest groups.

For instance.. I used to give money to the Human Rights Campaign. It got very little results, other than a cheap magazine and a bunch of mailings inviting me to their $250-plate dinners. Meanwhile, the ACLU's army of lawyers is kickin' ass in courts across the nation on behalf of gays and lesbian students, parents, taxpayers, etc. Simply amazing.

3. Air America Radio. No one else is reaching voters every day, in RW areas
Edited on Thu Sep-30-04 12:22 AM by oscar111
AAR is converting passive listeners, in FL, in chapel hill SC, in ATLANTA, in sandiego, in Anchorage,... all RW areas.

DU is fine, but doesnt reach passive listeners.

aflcio is fine, but doing nothing to reach folks by the millions in RW areas that i know of. No radio, no tv, no newspapers. It seems to love shrinking and will soon disappear.
sad. Sweeney, are you reading this?

Urge DNC and aflcio to permanently subsidize AA .. some call it AAR.
It is our only real GROWING EDGE.

http://www.airamericaradio.com

Patronize the sponsors at AAR, and boycott limbaughs sponsors..

http://www.takebackthemedia.org used to list rush's sponsors, but i cant find the list there now. Anyone know of another site with the list?

9. MoveOn & DFA
While Democracy for America is very young, I see it becoming a great way for entry level progressives to get into politics.
