Group urges CBS to air report - (Newsday article)
Moveon.org, the influential web-based group, in support of John Kerry's presidential bid, petitioned its members yesterday to contact CBS in an effort to get the network to air an investigative "60 Minutes II" piece that was shelved in the wake of the now-debunked story of President George W. Bush's Nation Guard service.

Representatives of the group said 5,000 members had called or e-mailed CBS, although that number could not be independently verified.

A network spokeswoman said she was unaware of the Moveon.org campaign, and referred a reporter to a weekend statement that said, in part, that "it would be inappropriate to air the report so close to the presidential election."

The shelved story, by veteran investigative producer David Gelber and correspondent Ed Bradley, reported how the Bush administration and intelligence agencies had used forged documents to prove Iraq had received a shipment of uranium from Niger.

1. It's innappropriate NOT to air it
It's withholding evidence.

3. It's the patriotic thing to do!
Our founding fathers would be horrified that such important information was being withheld.

But, Viacom has "determined" that having a RW president is in the best interest of their company. Not kiddding..... that was printed.

We are so screwed.

4. I was just relieved to see the term "uranium from Niger"
in a major print medium. I had already heard a few references to the "shelved story" connected to the phrase "justification for Iraq war".... but nothing else as specific to content.

5. Time to question the 'Journalistic Integrity' of having its

biased corporate head making editorial decisions.

The 'fairness' issue can be dealt with by giving the administration the opportunity to respond on-camera.

7. This is a small part of the damage done to our Republic by being corporate
owned.

Until we can get this across to the citizenry, we are screwed.

How do we start a mass education project?
