HELP

i'm writing an article on the unprecedented use of fear by this administration and am looking for quotes from other presidents in times of crisis (FDR, Lincoln, etc.) that basically go against the politics of fear mongering.

HELLLP!

2. A start
http://www.wheretodoresearch.com/Presidents/Quotes.htm

FDR - "The only thing we have to fear is fear itself - nameless, unreasoning, unjustified terror." (March 4, 1933)

Truman - America was not built on fear. America was built on courage, on imagination and an unbeatable determination to do the job at hand." (January 8, 1947)

5. Ben Franklin on feeling safe
"They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety."

Maybe not what you're looking for, but seems relative.
