(MPN-10-6-04) wash. d.c.-mt. st. cheney, while appearing calm on the surface, is very close to a major eruption of gas, steam and choking ash. vulcanologists agree that it could be catastrophic when it finally erupts.
constant rumblings are now detected beneath the mountain, which has a history of killing people and destroying property. last night the mountain belched an unusually large amount of steam and ash into the atmosphere reducing visibility and causing great concern among the experts.
"We've never seen such a large volume of poisonous gases and hot air released in one eruption", said Terry McCauliffe, Vulcanologist, "It's a rare opportunity to study the massive, gaseous mountain before it blows itself completely away".
scientists from around the world are in agreement, that until mt. st. cheney blasts itself into oblivion, and into the history books, it poses a great threat to human life and the environment. a grim scenario is painted by the experts who conclude that the volcanic monster could stay active for decades, killing untold thousands of people, and costing trillions of dollars.
