Just saw Dean commercial NBC Boston affiliate
first campaign commercial I've seen so far

man, thinking about his primary campaign was stressing me out yesterday. Now I wake up and I see this. Oh, well.

I know that like the 500 people on this board who are Deanocrats will be interested to know that he's broadcasting in MA. Both for southern NH, which shares the market with Boston and for the Massachusetts primary, and for liberal $$$ I assume

1. Bombtrack have you read up on him?
I see that you are an Edwards supporter, well I'm a North Carolinian that is a Dean supporter. If you haven't had a chance to check him out, I wish you would, he's not the flaming liberal that the press claims he is.

2. Really the only 2 liberal issues he is for are
civil unions and he was against the Iraq war (not all wars). He wants health care but not single payer at this point.

3. why would liberals want him if that were the case?
the 2 liberal issues for him are those that already happened and he can't change?

Yes I realize that his platform can not objectively and firmly be called to the left or right of Kerry, Gephardt, or Edwards. That they are all moderates in different ways.

However, perception and image, and the way he has achieved his success in this primary, by throwing red-meat to knee-jerk liberals and using Nader-like baseless rhetoric, and Jesse Jackson like liberal litmus tests------- together with the knowledge I have learned in my 2 years of political and public policy studies at college(which I will continue next week when I return), confirm in my mind- that he would hand Bush a second term as president in greater probability than the mets not winning the world series

he is Rove's dream candidate for very good reason. America has does and will disagree with his foriegn policy. He comes from the most sterotypically left-wing state. He comes from the typical pampered background, and utilizes the same unfounded rhetoric of most politicians, to have achieved most of his past success, and his current success

He wants to raise taxes on the middle class. He is the only person to ever sign a civil unions bill.

He exacerbates almost every democrat weakness more than any serious candidate, (although I'm sure the gun-nuts will come out for him right?) when in any sort of confrontation or debate he easily becomes shrill and immature.

I'll stop now.

6. don't you want to have NC a competative state?
so that you could actually do something during the presidential camnpaign, to win it, besides just send them money and watching it go by?
