Blue states (Dem) have better credit scores than red states (Repub)
On the Yahoo home page right now, below the list of top stories, there's a commercial link to a credit agency that reports the following breakdown of credit scores:

Blue states (D): 684
Red states (R): 671
National average: 677

I'm sure there's a complex explanation for the disparity. But in the grand tradition of the conservative pundit, let me boil it down to a single, simplified, and possibly unfair question: Is the fiscally irresponsible "borrow and spend" mentality of the GOP catching on with their followers?

1. It means that rich people never use their own money
to make money. They borrow money to make more money. Look at our debt. Look at the Haliburtons of this country.

4. First and foremost,
republicans need to be perceived as having money, because they, and their cohorts, despise the poor. They buy the trophy house and the hemi, then live on credit cards, then go bankrupt. OTOH...Most Dem's that I know are anti-establishment (except toward education) and non materialistic.

3. Red states do not have many rich people
What this really means is that the poorest parts of the country vote for the people who exacerbate their poverty.
