10 Nobel economists endorse Kerry
Experts criticize Bush's 'reckless and extreme course'
Updated: 11:03 a.m. ET Aug. 25, 2004

PHILADELPHIA - John Kerry won the endorsement of 10 Nobel Prize-winning economists Wednesday as he attacked President Bush for policies that he said have led to the creation of only low-paying jobs.

The Democratic presidential nominee released a letter from the economists saying the Bush administration had “embarked on a reckless and extreme course that endangers the long-term economic health of our nation.”

They cited “poorly designed” tax cuts that instead of creating jobs have turned budget surpluses into enormous budget deficits, a “fiscal irresponsibility threatens the long-term economic security and prosperity of our nation.”

Kerry lays this on the chimp tommorow night for the TKO....

1. The latest give-away to corporations and shareholders is.....
...$134 billion special interest tax cut. None of that tax cut will ever trickle down to stimulate the U.S. economy.

4. It trickles down to an extent
It pays minimum wage workers to do minimum wage jobs, some of it stays here.

My problem with 'trickle-down' is why do the people who need it the least get it first? Why don't we try a 'trickle-up' approach where the most needy get the money first, and spend it on all those valuable goods and services that American corporations provide (unless of course, foreign corporations make a better product)

13. Every neo-conservative, right-wing, fascistic republican...
...knows that "trickle-up" is bad for the lower classes who time and again have shown they have no idea how to manage money by investing, saving and spending frugally and wisely. Give a person in poverty a government hand-out and they'll just blow it!

Give billionaires a generous tax cut handout and they'll create jobs. Maybe not here in America, but somewhere jobs will be created. Then as the billionaires get wealthier, the billionaires buy things and wherever those things are made, imported from and sold, that spending by the wealthy trickles down and creates jobs.

Eventually, if the poor in America can just be patient(sometimes for years and even generations), some of that spending by the wealthy may trickle down to them! That's what Bush and the republicans mean by tax cuts are good for all Americans. They also know that tax cuts are really good, extremely good for the wealthy. The rest of Americans are not supposed to question that or if they do, they should not complain about it. The operative word is "trickle", a slow moist stream of money, not a drip, not a flood, but a steady moist trickle to millions of desperate thirsty anxious masses. The hungry masses respond to trickles. For trickles to happen, there must be pools from above. That's where the massive tax cuts and corporate tax credits come in, these create the pools of money for billionaires up above. So simple, every billionaire, understands this concept.

5. I can't believe that some pukes. . .
have the temerity to still preach supply side economics. That's been thoroughly discredited, yet they still trot out the Kennedy tax cuts, and even the Reagan tax cuts, for the proposition that they will be collecting more taxes, not less, after the tax cuts.

They believe in sugarplums, and sugarplum fairies. They can get gain with no pain.

Voo doo.

9. Reagan raised taxes
this is the reality that the greedy fucks try to deny. in his second term, Reagan had to raise taxes in order to head off an even bigger economic mess.

And, yes, it's amazing that some people in this country are so selfish and such shits that they don't care if their actions create misery for millions.

it's like they have a disease of the mind, like those people who can't stop eating and end up weighing 600 lbs.

something inside of them is out of whack.

10. CNN ran a story saying just the opposite:
That the Nobel Prize-winning economists support Bush, and criticize him only for not pusher for bigger tax cuts.

What the hell is going on here?
