Anybody watching Tannenbaum vs DeMint debate?
Edited on Tue Oct-12-04 11:05 PM by Hippo_Tron
DeMint actually attacked her for saying that she would vote for the democratic caucus, of course making sure to mention not only Tom Daschle, but Ted Kennedy as the leaders. He claims that not voting for Bill Frist is bad for South Carolina. She did a great job by responding that the outsourcing legislation he voted for costs South Carolina jobs and is bad for South Carolina and that he attacks her for ties to national democrats yet he seems insistant on tieing himself to national republicans. Tannenbaum is doing a great job and I really hope that she can pull it out, even though SC is such a Repuke state.

1. How many times was "Hillary Clinton" mentioned in the debate?
Could make for a good drinking game.

2. There are a lot of us here who are not "Repukes"

Yes, South Carolina is the state that fostered and created the Civil War. Yes, South Carolina has been at the heart of radical conservatism since the 1950s.

There are many, many of us here in South Carolina who love the natural beauty of our state and want our state to do better. It's my opinion, based on 54 years of life in this wonderful place, that 40% of South Carolinians are liberal and can't stand the stupidity that passes for our local politics.

3. That's good to know that there's a strong liberal base in SC
BTW I was looking at an electoral map of 1960 and wondering how JFK managed to win SC as well as Georgia, part of Mississippi, and Louisiana even though he was an advocate for civil rights.

4. The South was beginning a transition period that it has still goes on...
Hell, there are still remote places on the LA bayou where liberal villages vote GOP en masse and vice versa.
