I generally don't like name calling, but this one is cute

The name calling aspect of the internet-era of politics is pretty dreary. People who type an astrix every time they mean Bush, or consistantly say "Rethugs" or "Reich Wingers" to describe our opponents are, in my opinion, conspiring with Freepers to dumb down the national debate on our future. I'm with President Clinton on this one. They need to dumb things down. Democrats do better when people think. When you constantly insult the otherside instead of explaining the issues, what you're really doing is discouraging people, including ourselves, from thinking.

But every now and then a nickname is clever enough and so apt that even I get the stick out of my ass on this anti-"Orwellian NewSpeak" issue. So when I saw this word today, I knew I was in love.

we have to overcome the anti-intellectual fervor that Rethugs have cultivated before we can appeal to people's intellects.

In other words, Dems promoted intellectualism which Rethugs crushed with "might makes right". Now we must emphasize "honor" as an interim step before, we can guide nation back to intellectualism.

dont know what to think about the name calling issue ; however i think typing an asterix in place of whats his name is appropriate. Its the kind of word we dont want to have to write or say and is not necessarily derogatory.
