Republicans, Out of Ideas, Ask Prosecutors to Arrest Michael Moore
http://www.michaelmoore.com/words/message/index.php?messageDate=2004-10-06

You may have heard by now that the Michigan Republican Party has called for my arrest. That's right. They literally want me brought up on charges -- and hope that I'm locked up.

No, I'm not kidding. The Republican Party, yesterday, filed a criminal complaint with the prosecutors in each of the counties where I spoke last week in Michigan.

My crime? Clean underwear for anyone who will vote in the upcoming election.

1. Does he still think that Republicans and Democrats are the same?
I'm guessing not.

2. He hasn't felt that way for a few years. Give Michael a break.
He's been one of the heroes.

7. Oh I like him......
I even went and saw him a couple of years ago. There were a bunch of people outside (not connected to him) screaming about Republicans and Democrats being the same and I rolled my eyes, and one of them said, "hmm. Maybe this isn't the best place to say this."

3. I think I will send some dirty underwear

Anyone have the address?

4. Yeah, but the local prosecuter is a Dem and LAUGHED
on camera when asked about it on TV here. I don't expect they'll have ANY luck in Ingham County, where MSU is located.

6. Well, having grown up in Ingham County . . .
I'm not so sure of that. It's a pretty Republican place once you get outside of Lansing, and remember, the county seat is in Mason, my hometown, to the south.

Is Diane Byrum still a major presence there? If she is, he'll be fine.

8. My hometown is Haslett!
I don't live there now, but my parents still do. Byrum is still around.

5. He was here in San Diego a couple of nights ago.

It was great too. University of San Marcus originally dropped him because they "could not get a conservative booked to balance it out."

So instead of appearing in front of the 1200 or so at the school, he appeared in front of 10000 plus at the Del Mar fairgrounds! The truly great thing about it, was that although there were a couple of freeper protesters here and there, there were also a lot of republicans in the crowd, that were honestly there to listen to him.

The guy knows how to get his message out.

9. I can't help but wonder...
...how much of an effect "F 9/11" is having on the electorate. It's not something you would hear much about, people quietly renting, viewing and returning it. It's certainly not as glamorous as lines, ticket and picket, at the theaters.

Just wondering if Mike might be affecting things more than anyone realizes.

I keep hearing references to Bush's "7 minute 'duh,'" and I hear his defenders, too. But the one thing many of them can't explain is the look on Ari Fleischer's face as he watches Shrub. You know, the "C'mon! C'mon! Do something! Dooo Sooomethiiing!" look. The expression showed that his own staff definitely expected something more.
