Ask Us (CTV News, Friday Feature) - re: drug prices in the USA
Why are prescription drugs cheaper in Canada? Does the US have a policy preventing them from getting the same deal?

We have a drug price review board (started 17 yrs ago.) You have lobbyists. CTV's answer was a bit more thorough.

It always amazes me that the capitalist capital doesn't drive a harder bargain for their medicine.

As long as politicians are bought and paid for, they'll never change things.

2. Our system is so much cheaper
No big election year conventions. (We do have leadership conventions, but they are not a produced as yours.) Campaigns are 7 weeks long. How much money can you spend in 7 weeks? We also have many fewer TV markets.
