AWOL to avoid draft by Extending Reserves to 5 Years Rumored!
Military Rumors

According to an emailer, who signed it "An Afghanistan and Iraq Veteran For Truth," the Bush administration does have a cunning plan to avoid reinstituting the draft. Their plan is to extend allowed reservist mobilization to 5 years, up from the current 2. Obviously I can't confirm the information one way or the other, but there's reason to think the person is credible.

1. In other words, would continue back-door draft
We'll have to make sure to keep calling it that so the repubs can't claim the convesation.

Back-door draft...keep saying it regardless of what *'s regime says.

2. This is exactly what's coming....
I'm in the Army Guard and when we returned from Iraq last Dec. we were informed that we could not redeploy to Iraq because of the Presidential Directive limiting combat tours to a total of 24 months. There's no way to keep up troop strength and rotations without extending this limit. The is the next step before the draft.

3. Or they will just extend them "For The Duration"...
...of the never-ending war. The only way out will be suicide.

4. You know, I've got to admit
One thing Bush is good at is avoiding drafts.

5. Make no mistake: Bu$h will reinstitute the Draft immediately if he
is re-selected in Nov.

He lied on national TV during the debate, just like he lied to us on national TV when he said that Iraq had WMD.

Bu$h is a liar. Lies are his native language.

All that will do is buy them an additional 18 months, nothing more.

So instead of June 2005, we'll be looking at December 2006, which buys them one more midterm election.

Merry Fucking Christmas.
