Debating the Iraq War

Well, despite my month-long battle with my college admin to have a College Democrats, we're finally official now and our first event is a debate (after a showing of Fah 9/11) on the Iraq war with the College Repukes.

I'm compiling a little folder of the most damning evidence the war was a mistake and/or Bush lies about the war. Do you have something really good that I could use as a talking point? I'll need to rebut the most common right-wing arguments.

1. What will your reference point be?

Are you gonna speak about the true nature of U.S. foreign policy
or will you just try to paint this one adventure as wrong and as an exception rather than the rule?

This matters because it dictates what resources you want to gather.

2. I have a couple.

1. 15 of the 19 hijackers were from Saudi Arabia, the rest were from Syria, and Yemen, none from Iraq. What part did Iraq play in the attackers on September 11, 2001?

2. How much of a threat was Iraq when not only did they not have Weapons of Mass Destruction but, they did not even have a military?

3. Immediately following the invasion, how come they made sure the oil fields were secure before they made sure the streets were secure?

no american can justify that... or just let'em try ;->

you can use as an example, 1. sotu 16 words about uk intel showing a niger/uranium connection to iraq (also was based on FORGED DOCS, this ties into the whole plame treason scandal)
2. ignored PLANS for postwar iraq.
