Notice how shallow the "Support Our Troops" meme is with Republicans?
What with the soldiers refusing to follow suicidal pointless orders.

It's become "Support Our Troops, Unless They Make The President Look Bad, In Which Case They're Cowards And Should Be Punished Harshly."

It seems they're more concerned about the insubordination, than the fact that they were given bad orders.

1. They support the war
They don't support the troops. It's about time we called them on that.

2. it is indeed pathetic, and highly disturbing
I believe the soldiers' dissent should be viewed as a wakeup call and the motivations for their actions need serious examination. Instead, republicans want to hang them. "Support the Troops" is meaningless to them - what they really want is for us to wrap ourselves in the flag and support an illegal, immoral war.

3. Most republicans that i know don't have any
skin in the game...ie relatives in Iraq. My bible thumping neighbor asks me about my nephew who has been in Iraq forever after doing a year in Afghanistan, i always ask her when her 19 year old healthy son is going to enlist. Her response is always the same.."He can do plenty here to help." "Really, like what?" "Oh he sends thing to the troops." "He should join them."
Then she always walks away. I swear i've has the same conversation with her like 10 times. She wanted to send stuff to my nephews group, i told her no thanks the girlscout troop i lead send them stuff every 2 weeks.

5. Ah, yes. The first footnoted slogan.
Support Our Troops*

*This slogan not valid in all circumstances or with all troops. Invidual hypocrisy may apply.

7. that is no meme
The meme is: "cynical abuse of power"

Support our troops is a slogan, under which untold war crimes have
been pursued by the republican terrorists over the past decades.

More accurately, the meme is "terror, fear and abuse"
